Filing with H&R Block Deluxe this year was a good experience, but I wish the program would have offered additional ways that I might save on my tax bill.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund

I have used H&R Block Deluxe Software for several years and have generally found it to be reliable and accurate. I did, however, experience a couple of snags this year after I forwarded my 2023 tax info to my 2024 taxes. My standard deduction did not show up at all and I had to spend several minutes trying to find a box that had somehow gotten checked in the forwarding process that eliminated the standard deduction. I also had a minor issue on my 1040ES as it was by default showing married filing jointly and I have always filed married filing separately. Not sure if these were just glitches or what caused the issues.....just glad that I caught them before filing and that it only took up about an extra hour of my time. Hopefully info in this review will help the tech department to look into the info changing during the forwarding process.

I found that this tax software was not nearly as user friendly as TurboTax, which I used for the last several years. In addition, and as best I could tell, the form for Foreign Tax Paid did not auto-fill correctly. I'd rate it as OK, but do not plan on using it in the future.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have used for a number of years and find it a simple and easy to use program with good resource information. I would like to see the estimated tax portion expanded to allow for anticipated income from sources other than salary and/or retirement income.
