Been using H&R Block tax programs for about 15 years. I find, for the most part, it's pretty straightforward and easy to use.
Due to the changing tax landscape, there are some pitfalls to be traversed with caution. In particular, the mortgage interest area. Luckily I paid off my mortgage in Jan 2025 which made things a bit less troublesome. I think a deeper explantion of information to be provided would be helpful

Program does not handle IRA distributions correctly and has no option to download investment data from Wells Fargo, a major US bank.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

Refuses to file electronically

The program had to use the "iterative method" for calculating APTC health care payments and because of this, it gave a message at the end that stated because it had to use the iterative method it could not electronically file. What?! No other issues with the return. I had to mail almost 50 pages of tax forms by certified mail but the US postal service has lost my mail. It's been over 6 weeks, stuck in OLATHE, KS. Now I have to print and mail a duplicate. A pain that could have been avoided if the program would have just filed my return electronically.
