Missed a big error in my 2023 and 2024 state tax return. Caught in in 2024 but had to file an amended return for 2023. When it brought info from federal over to state, the retirement info had a field (private/public) that was left blank, needed to manually select one. The program should have caught that on the accuracy report but it didn't. Other than that, software pretty easy to use.

i BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE I HAVE USED IT FOR MANY YEARS.
This year, the program would not file the federal form successfully because the final document did not agree where it was supposed to with the info from the previously years filed document done with the same program on the same computer.

i have used the tax software for years and it is fine. I did have a problem this year in that I needed it to cover some income from Maryland, and after buying the state, when I picked non-resident the software provided a message that it did not support non-resident for Maryland. I think a rebate should be given.

I did my own taxes for the first time in several years. H&R Block's software was affordable, and helpful, but maybe not a lot more than just using the IRS forms, or especially, the state forms. I wish it would make recommendations on how to save taxes this year.

the simple and straight forward areas work fine, but there are a few areas where i can't figure out where the software got those values from; checking the Help for those areas does not explain anything nor point to where the gov't tax code that are relevant.

Generally very helpful. But we donated a vehicle this year. The software forced us to say what the value of the vehicle was when we received it, even though it also explicitly said that wasn't necessary (since we had the vehicle for over 12 months). That was confusing and annoying.
