One of the things that I had an issue with was finding where I needed to put my RMD money. I ended up choosing two different locations and ran my taxable income up substantially. I think you do a good job with the interviews and overall, they make sense, but I had some confusion as to where to put some of the elements of my return. I also had some confusion about sold stock gains and losses. I sold more at a loss than gain and I did the same thing last year but the number that came up at the end to the page didn't make any sense to me. I also wasn't sure how the rollover from last year was supposed to work. Those were the biggest problems that I had. One last one, I don't remember needing EIN numbers before and finding them was a bit of a hassle.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Interface is fine, navigating to specific forms could be improved. I find it ridiculous that HRB requires you to download separate software to save as pdf. In 2026!

Overall, it does taxes well, but lacks detail in some areas. There were some things that I couldn't tell what they were even after I read the "info" if there was any available. I don't have all the examples because I didn't write them down and I got a headache from trying to figure some things out. I can give some examples. Like I was asked something like if I paid State taxes, but it doesn't say during the year (pre-payment) or from my last tax return. The PDF "saver" has not worked as long as I can remember. They should just say use "Microsoft Save as PDF" print option. I check the file date/time "stamp" to make sure no changes were made to my tax file, but it changes even if you do not make any changes to your tax return. There is the option to do Local taxes, but it was hard to find after I was done with it. And the Help was of no help. I did find it under my State taxes, but it doesn't save under the State Taxes if you pick all forms. The Local taxes are under "GLS something". When I picked that to save, it didn't save the worksheet, so I selected that option. When I did that, the "main form" did not save, just the worksheet. It should be both.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I have been using TaxCut and its predecessors for at least 15 years. I always did my own taxes and having a computer program makes filling in the blanks so much easier -- and doesn't require erasing. My only real complaint is having to enter the Schedule D information, which can get tedious if I had a largish number of stock transactions that year. [I finally wrote a computer script -- I was in IT for my career! -- to convert Excel files to txf. I always complained to my financial advisors that I wished they would do it directly. At least one provided the feature for 'TaxCut', but your program wouldn't logon and connect to their server.
I have never had any issues with accuracy. There was one year when I had worked in two states and for whatever reason your program refused to split my income correctly. You did provide two separate 'fixes' to the software, but they unfortunately didn't work correctly and I ended up using your 'form' mode. Ugh!!! If I could make any suggestion it would be to make that interface better. Let me fill out the actual form and attach it to the forms you create.
