MN other tax paid wouldn’t transfer from Federal

Verified Purchase:Yes
The MN state return program would not transfer “other state taxes paid” from the Federal program. I had to do a work around by reclassifying them as estimated tax payments. This took too much extra time, so I’ll probably go back to TurboTax next year. I never had this problem with them.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not as user friendly or trustworthy as Turbotax

Initial e-file did not transmit the first time. After noticing the funds had not been withdrawn from the bank, we had to re-file. Unfortunately it was already past tax deadline. It was difficult to go back to a certain part of a section to change something, having to start at the beginning of that section each time and click my way page by page until I reached the part I needed to edit or review.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Unfortunately this software is severely lacking and has not improved at all over many years. Automatic updates do not work and I have to download them from the web. Even though I buy deluxe and state, the app does not understand I already paid for state and asks me for more money. Printing does not work. I am forced to unload my print driver and print to a pdf that I can print from an app that actually works.

We've used this software for many years. The interface stays consistent and is simple to install and use. We have a fairly complex return with dividends and retirement earnings but the software easily handles this.
