Lots of trouble with submitting the State. Keep rejected credit cards. Also not able to use discount code I received for compensation for last years problems your system was having with submission. I may be looking else were for tax software next year.

All went well until near the end. On a previous year's form I needed a "home energy audit" or something to take a deduction for new energy-saving doors & windows. I hadn't taken the Deduction. H & R Block's robot wouldn't let me correct a "minor detail" on the form. The only way it worked is when I gave up keeping the form altogether. No questionable items then, Federal & State Income Tax Forms were sent & accepted just fine. HOWEVER, it then asked me about a "Life Alert" gadget & some woman joined in the questioning, trying to sell me a subscription to monitor some "Life Alert" gadget which I "qualified to receive free (the gadget itself, NOT the subscription for them to monitor it). She took a lot of time trying to sell me the monitoring which I did NOT want. I felt relieved when she finally gave up. I did NOT want to give out ANY personal information which could bring me problems later. I considered the whole episode HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS. At least my Income Tax Forms were accepted. I.R.S. got some $$, California F.T.B. has yet to send the refund.

I was disappointed this year as my TAKE ME TO function was not working causing a lot of wasted time searching. I also would like to see a feature that shows you a digital view of the final form. Currently you have to print the form.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

I've used Turbo Tax product for over 20 years and actually bought it again for TY 2024 but when I installed it, it tried to force me into setting up an account with Intuit, which I didn't like and had no intention of being "bullied" into doing. So I bought H&R Blocks software to try that instead. I used it to do my taxes and was pleasantly surprised at how good it is and how much value it provides. The fact that it includes a way to do the Local Tax is a real added value for me because that is something "the other" software didn't provide for me.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Every year, whether I like it or not. But I do like it.
Only complaints. Some of the comes from and goes to doesn’t seem to work. Also for detailed lists, give better names so I don’t have to guess which one to open for a specific line
