Was pretty easy to use, except for capital gains
on April 24, 2026

I've used the Deluxe version for the past two years. This year was the first year I needed to record a capital gain from a sale of appreciated stock. It was very difficult to see how to do that. I went through my entire return a first time without the automated process asking about stock capital gains. I had to go back to the income section and finally found where it was - still not sure how I missed it the first time. But that is one area I would ask that the developers improve on for next time....that's why I didn't give it 5 stars.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I bought this as directly as an early edition and paid about 40% more then if I had waited until February. I won't make that mistake again. Also, there was a display bug involving grouped capital gain sales that caused me quite a bit of worry and delayed my filing by three weeks hoping for a bug fix release. I searched for well over an hour for a way to report the bug (including asking ChatGPT and Gemini AI) and could not find a way. As a retired Software Engineer I found this extremely disappointing, almost to the point of making this rating 3/5.
