I am totally satisfied with the features of the Block software, except the fact that there is a charge for submitting state tax returns. I believe that at least the state tax forms should be free of charge for the five free federal returns covered by the software package.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I have used H&R Block software for many years, now. Although it is generally easy to use this year's program (for 2025) seemed more difficult than normal. The navigation was not as clear as usual, and the help info really didn't work well.

I've used H&R Block software for years. My first gripe is why did the font on everything go smaller this year? Second, it's always a struggle to find where you can save your forms in PDF format as you would exactly file. It's there, but I just think it could be in an easier place.

The software ask for amount of RMD. However, I took the amount of my RMD out and received a 1099R in that amount. When I then answered the amount of RMD, the software added the income a second time and taxed it a second time.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
