Why did H&R take away Merrill Lynch 1099 download?

H&R2025 took a huge step backwards in tax preparation by removing Merrill Lynch 1099 downloads. Manually inputting 1099s, especially lengthy 1099-B, is a total pain in the .... I would have not have used H&R again had I known this before purchasing it. I will switch to a different platform next year if they continue to not support it.

I have been using H&R Block software for ten years, at times I have considered changing to Turbotax but continued with H&R Block for 2025 Taxes. I do significant amount of stock trading, I found this years tax software to be clunky and time consuming at it forced me to review every stock trade and each review took approximately 1.5 minutes; I had over 500 trades!!
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used your product since the 1990s. In the last ten years it has gotten less capable and harder to get help. Down loading 1099s is hit or miss at best. In the last two years I have had to enter many of my 1099s manually. I will be using Turbo tax next year.
