Software skipped several screens that had to be corrected causing several error and wrong amounts. Software came back as held, then refused as not sent. Credit card was charged 12 times over 3 cards and the credit card company said it was paid, now I have to dispute charges. Talked to chat service twice, first time had to wait 24 hours second time said only thing I can do I submit dispute to credit card company. When I asked what they would do when credit card company said it was paid, they just said I had to deal with them.

Calculating estimated payments for next year is not intuitive.

Instructions are very thorough and the organization of questions keeps the correct focus. Only request is to update the NJ tax software to be able to include NJ tax exempt dividends so that the return can be filed electronically instead of through printing paper copies. Last year there was a delay in the process since the return was never scanned on receipt from the post office. We had to do the same this year and have not gotten receipt confirmation yet.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

If it weren’t for the knowledge I had gained by doing my taxes without software for many years I’m afraid this software isn’t robust enough to help the average Joe complete their return with significant errors
