Coast knocked it out of the park on this one.i was skeptical about the voice control in fact I thought it might be a little gimmicky but let me say I was surprised it works awesome and I didn’t realize how handy this feature would would be . When I using the head lamp I switch from spot to flood several times each time I use it and it’s nice just to speak the option I want instead of fumbling with the buttons and having to cycle through different options to get to one you want. The voice control works even in a noisy environment. I use this light every day on my job and I looking forward to using it camping and around the house.. I have quite a few of coast products but I have to say I think this is my new favorite!!…..SPOT ON coast thanks for another winner

This one top demo it's got everything I love the voice activation sometimes that's the only reason I use it LOL I love all the different beams and floods and colors great headlamp it has everything it's rechargeable I could throw away all my other headlamp but they're all cost also so I keep them too but this one replaces them all great head now

Great light for every need

Got my light a couple of weeks ago, opening the box I thought it was a little too bulky to be a headlamp. After the first week of using it, it didn’t bother me a bit. The head strap is very comfortable, & the light is very easy to use. The voice control feature took me a day or so to remember the exact phrases but very convenient while my hands are busy and lighting needs adjusted. Have already recommended this light to several friends I know could put it to good use!!

Why do I need the RL35R?

I'm more of a purpose built tool guy. 'Do everything' type products are often just OK but sometimes, gadgety at best. To explain, I use a XPH34R (2075 Lumens) at work for its bright light and long battery life, a XP18R (3650 Lumens) for tracking game. The XPH25R (410 Lumens) goes with me when travelling to help with unanticipated low light situations and the LH150 reflective string vest is perfect for roadside emergencies or extra visibility when dusk or dawn cycling.
Now, to the point. This new RL35R will charge my cell when reception drains the battery in remote locations, voice activation is great when hands are full of butchering 'stuff', the low level colored lights are ideal when walking into the woods before light and the rear facing flashing red eliminates the need for another bike accessory.
Basically, it's feature rich and it all works...better than just OK. If you're in a hurry to get outside, just grab the RL35R. If your not, take it with you anyway. It'll serve many purposes well.
Now, to the point. Coast RL35R - Awesome!

I’ve had this headlamp for several weeks. It is amazing! The voice control is next level! No matter how you say the commands the headlamp understands. Being able to voice command the light type (Coast Arc, Coast flood) is so helpful. I was processing an indoor crime scene and making that light change (from flood to arc) made all the difference. The easy change from wide area lighting to spot lighting without hands is next level. The battery life is excellent! I’ve used this consistently for most of the night working and the battery held without issue. I have changed the light color (red, white, blue, green) by voice and it easily understands what I am saying without having to perfectly enunciate my words. This headlamp is awesome! I cannot remember this enough!

Nothing short of amazing!

I've had this product for around 3 weeks now, and I'm still blown away by it everyday. Its been crazy busy, so this review took longer than i intended. That said, its been through its testing and then some. I spend my week in people's attics, crawlspaces, and basements. It provides me with the perfect lighting for every job I've used it for so far. Out of a 40 hour week, this light probly burns 20-25 hours of that. I also have a dog who overheats super easy, so we have to walk at night. It provides more than adequate light, and a taillight too, for safety. Although I haven't found much use for the voice control features, they work flawlessly when I do need them. And so far, as with any of my coast lights, it's reliable and well built/solid. Over the 20 years I've been using primarily coast products, the only one that has ever failed, actually went for a swim in a molten iron bath. So it didn't fail, I guess I did. The only thing that would make this light better would be to add a little fun and have the voice commands be customizable. Amazing product, absolutely 100% recommend to literally anybody.

I’ve used this several times and I am impressed with the voice control. It really helps when you can’t use your hands to turn the light on or change from low to high. I might have to get one for my son-in-law before he takes it away from me.
