Bought these glue sticks for a school project my son and I were working on. They work great! Excellent for photo paper. No bleed through or uplifted edges and the sticks didn't dryout.

Stuck on Glue Sticks

I'm a big fan of glue sticks - not only for paper - but to use on fabric in my quilting business as well. I really like the purple-tinted ones because you can see exactly where you are putting it. The Staples brand has always performed just as well as other brands and washed out of fabric with no problem. I like buying the multi-pack so that I can keep one by the sewing machine for temporarily sticking buttons in place before sewing them on one for applique pieces for quilting and one in my office for paper. The fourth one goes in my travel bag. Great product at a great price!

Not what you need

These glue sticks are so bad that if they weren't so inexpensive I would return them. Bottom line: they dry way too fast to allow for any repositioning - in fact so fast that if you have any pause they will not even glue. And: given that challenge of dry time many bonds occur after that drying has started and therefore the attachment lacks sufficient "stickiness"
Unfortunately the adhesive was of this product is sun standard. Would not buy again

The better glue stick
on July 2, 2014

I have tried all the name brands of glue sticks and find none as good as the Staples Brand of Glue Stick. The other brands get soft and runny during warm weather while the Staples brand remains firmer. Yes in warm weather the Staples brand gets softer but not nearly as soft as the name brands. The flow of adhesive is good and attached paper does not fall off when the glue dries unlike some of the name brands In my business I have to deal with small receipts and pieces of paper. With the alternative being stapling the little pieces of paper to bigger sheet glue sticks make assembly quick and easy.
