Tough to seal

I wish this product was also available in a pre-gummed pull and seal version. It's very hard to moisten the flap and use the clasp at the same time.

GREAT FOR WHAT I USE THEM FOR

These envelopes are great for mailing out 20 - 30 or so sheets of paper folded in half. They hold up to the USPS and though I don't use the adhesive portion (I don't lick envies) the clasp is quite tough.

My wife has used these for several years to mail catalogs for her retail sales business. Never had a bad envelope! Be careful with the clasp ... I usually cover them with tape before mailing.

Just Right!

Our company uses these Staples Brown Clasp envelopes mainly because they are the exact size for the lowest rate the Post Office charges for regular mail. We can fold our reports invoices and statement in half and still be charged the "letter" rate. One half inch more on any side of the envelope will put the package into a higher rate bracket. Also the envelopes will hold all that we need to send and remain intact and secure no matter where or how far they are mailed. The clasp and adhesive used has never come apart.

Clasps cause higher postage

the product is good but the fact that it has the clasps on it makes it more expensive to mail. The Post Office has said that we would get a better rate if we mailed things without the clasps so we have started to do that. Without the clasps envelopes DO exist but they are way to expensive for our small business. If they were available at a decent price I'm sure we'd purchase them and go THAT way..but for now we merely remove the clasps and mail the envelopes without them..that way the Post Office gives us a better rate.

Good product - good value

Perfect size and material for use in mailing brochures and booklets. We use this regularly in sending programs to advertisers and sponsors. Paper is sturdy enough to survive mail handling with no damage to our product.
