No Longer A Quality Sponge

I only use the ScotchBrite blue scrub sponges for cleaning tasks around the house. Due to their toxicity, I never use them for pots & pans, dishes, or on anything that will be used for human consumption. The leeching blue dye continues to be prevalent with this sponge but over the last few years, I've also noticed that when I use the scrubber side on anything, say like a bathtub or a sink, it leaves this sticky blue residue that I have to then clean up with Bob Ami scouring powder and a regular sponge. I've also noticed that the scrubber side wears out fast and doesn't hold up as long as it used to. No longer a quality sponge so will be shopping for a replacement.

Gone downhill

I had been buying these for decades. They recently reduced the thickness of the sponge and they fall apart more quickly. The sponge splits now, and the blue scrubby pad peels off the edges. I wish companies would stop trying to “improve” on what works.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor quality, not what I expect from Scotchbrite

This sponge falls apart within days, and leaves bits of blue sponge everywhere. Sponge is not nearly as dense as previous versions. This comes across as a cheap knockoff. Something has changed and we will no longer buy this product, despite having bought it for over 15 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Incredible shrinking sponge

I've been buying these for many years...until now. I'll be buying other brands from now on. The sponge thickness has been cut in half to make a cheaper product. It feels like a dishrag instead of a sponge. Shame on you Scotch Brite!

Quality Control, or Nefarious Business Practices

I've used these sponges for over 20 years. My mother uses these sponges. My grandmother (rest in peace) used these sponges. They USED to work (hence the family tradition). Now, they're half the thickness, half the quality, at the same price -- which means Scotch Brite (and 3M, etc.) gets the same profit while cutting their costs. Rather than degrading your product quality and hoping your customers won't notice, why not make a high quality product and stick to it? I bet we'd even pay a little more for it.

Once Great, Now It Falls Apart

Been using this product for over 15 years with no issues. Even a dishwasher cycle or two, these sponges would hold up and never fall apart as they do today. Lately these ScotchBrite sponges last only 2-3 days before they begin to fall apart & separate! (See Pix. The glue is visible and appears to be intentionally water soluble). Obviously 3M changed the glue adhesive to a cheaper one. (Old adhesive was a light yellow, new adhesive is a deep mustard yellow... please see pix). I believe its all an effort to increase sales by their Marketing Team by cheapening the glue thus reducing its usable life by half... and you can completely forget about running them through a dishwasher cycle or two, that caused them to completely come apart. Sad, we loved this product from 3M, now we'll be looking for a better sponge.

Falling apart quickly

I have been using the same sponges for years. The quality is beyond cheap. I though I had a “bad” batch. But no. The top of the sponge comes loose with every sponge.

What Happened????

Major change in these scrubbers this year. They do not last like before and I'm using 3 of them in 3 weeks time or less. 1 uses to last me almost a month or more. The product has definitely gone way down in quality.
