[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Scotch-Brite (non-scratch) Blue Scrub Sponges for more than 10 years. I recently purchased a 9 pack from my local retailer. Up until this recent purchase, I was completely satisfied with the product. As soon as I put the new sponge in my hand I knew immediately it was not of the same quality I was accustomed to. The new sponge has lower density and is more flimsy in my hand than the older sponge. I even had my husband compare the the new sponge with the older sponge. He also agreed the newer sponge felt less dense and more flimsy. I am not satisfied with the changes made to the product.

Disappointed

I have been using these sponges for years and have been very satisfied. The last few packs I have bought, however, do not meet the quality standards that I have been used to with this product. The scrubbing side works well and is durable. The sponge side, however, begins to disintegrate after a few uses. Small portions of the sponge begin to break off, leaving small blue sponge scraps in the sink.
I have switched to another brand and am not having that problem.

Sponge is now half the thickness!?

I've bought these sponges for years and they have always been fantastic. I can't describe my extreme disappointment when I opened a package I recently bought and was surprised to find my reliable thick sponge to be half of its thickness. Yet another company manipulating a great product so they can make a dime and no doubt the cost for the customer will stay the same!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Scotch Brite Kitchen Sponges-Falling Apart

This was the only brand of kitchen sponges I would purchase, because I liked them so well. But the last two packs of them were horrible! The sponges peel and shred away and the scratchless pad is separating from the sponge on the very first use! At first I thought I just got one bad pack, and bought more (about a month apart). The same thing happened! I'm not sure what changed in your manufacturing, but please go back to the former method. I can't buy these again unless something changes. My money is not disposable.

I used to love these, but the last 2 packages of scrub sponges have performed miserably. The sponge side just fell apart and pieces fell off in the sink/dish water. Each one had to be thrown away after only a few days of gentle use.

Poor Quality as of 2016

I am a serious cook, constantly doing dishes, and noticed this year that the quality of this BLUE non-scratch sponge has gone way downhill. I have been using these for years and they usually last over a month. Well now they last me 1-2 weeks tops and they are completely flattened out. So very disappointed in the new version, as I am not wasting money on them any more. Glad to know that I am not the only one having issues with the quality. IT JUST SHREDS IN NO TIME and until they fix the problem with the material, I am NOT buying them any more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Top layer has been peeling off, exposing glue

Purchased a six pack of these sponges over the weekend. The blue scrubbing layer peeled off after scrubbing one fork. Had to throw the sponge away because there was exposed glue and frankly the sponge looked disastrous. Tried another sponge from the same pack last night and the same thing happened. Top layer started peeling off and by the time I was finished with the small load of dishes, the layer was completely off. Very disappointing, this shouldn't happen. I did take photos and email the company.

What happened to these sponges?!?

Something has changed for the worse in the manufacturing of these sponges. I have used these religiously for years and years, buying them in bulk from Costco. The sponge has always performed as promised and each sponge would last a good long while. When the sponge would get dirty, I would send it through the dishwasher and it would come out as good as new! BUT NO LONGER!! Now, any oily residue on my dishes gets absorbed into the sponge and remains trapped there. Sanitizing them through the dishwasher cycle does nothing. Sanitizing them in water with a little bleach does nothing. In less than a week they become dirty useless bricks that won't even absorb water!! They are now useless kitchen tools lasting barely longer than a paper towel. It's interesting how it's the little things in life that produce both the greatest joy and the deepest disappointment. I'm not a review writer usually. A sponge is a tool which helps us solve problems: it cleans up messes and accidents. And the Scotch Bright non-scratch scrubbing sponge that WAS was an amazing little workhorse that came through every time and was a great value as it held up to rigorous scrubbing and was able to be cleaned and sanitized and used again and again. This NEW sponge, however, doesn't help me solve problems but has become a problem in and of itself. It locks into itself dirt and grime, it smells, and must be discarded by weeks end. Very disappointed in the changes made to these sponges!
