Like other reviews, I have been a loyal Dobie user for many year$. I use to love them for washing dishes, cleaning the bathroom and other cleaning jobs.
In the past I could use the scrubber for twice as long. The mesh is poor quality and I'll soon be switching brands.

Not like they used to be..

I’m very disappointed in the Dobie pads I have gotten lately. I have used these for at least 40 years, but over the past 6 months to a year, the outside has developed holes after no more than three uses. Most of the dishes I’m using them on are smooth (plates, glasses, etc.), so I don’t think it’s from excessive scrubbing.
Do I need to start looking for a similar product that will last longer?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not as good as they were!

The last few boxes that I bought would have lasted a year but the outside mesh just falls apart. The quality has gone down bad. I have worked in supermarkets for 40 years. I would always tell people about this product every time they walked down the isle.

I've been using Dobie pads forever. (forty years)They are only lasting about 2 weeks now. It's so upsetting! The cover is just pulverizing.

These pads are not the same as in the past. They break down and the cover rips within a short time. Been a loyal user of these pads for 27 years and now I question the quality.

Changed for the worse

I'm very disappointed with my last few purchases of this product. These have been my 'go to' sponge pad for at least 25 years! Sadly they have gone down from a 5 star to a 2 star rating. I will no longer recommend them to my family and friends.

Does a great job at scrubbing, but not durable

I have to echo many of the other users; I've been using these pads for over 20 years, and in the past year or two, something has gone wrong with the outer plastic on these pads. I used to have to get rid of these because they became discolored on the inner sponge after scrubbing gross pans/stove top and such, but never because the plastic scrubbing surface was ripped. Now I am simply washing non-stick pans (I have to use the green scrub pads for sheet pans now), and plastic parts I don't want in the dishwasher, and I get rips within 2 weeks. I've adapted and have gotten the green scrub pads for tougher jobs, but it's true I think the quality has gone down a great deal in the past couple years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My first memory of washing dishes was with a dobie pad, and since then, my kids started helping with dishes using dobie pads as well (ok,not very often,but STILL). Lately I was about to purchase my usual multi pack and noticed the price went up again. This is when i asked myself, do I really want to continue using this plastic pad to throw away and leave on this earth far after I'm gone? More trash to leave behind.
Sorry Dobie, we've had good times together and made great memories, but our relationship has come to an end. We're just not right for each other anymore.
I've left you for a more biodegradable partner. So long, old friend.
