My favorite sponge!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this sponge. Tough when nessacery and still gentle enough not to damage my pans. Easy to ring out. Stays durable for a good length of time. My favorite sponge.

Quality went down and the price went up

I also have been using Dobie pads for years. In the past they've lasted several months and the price was right. Recently, the price increased and the pads fall apart after a week or two of daily use (dish washing). So disappointed. In fact, I've been looking for another product to replace it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Dobie Pads for all my life but looking here for my local stores that carry it I have to agree with all the comments. The sponge on the inside seems to be consistently shrinking pretty early on now. It use to take some time before a hole would develop before the sponge would decrease. Now I notice I get wholes much quicker as well. Still plan to see if this is just a temporary flaw.

I have been using Dobie pads most of my life, both growing up and all of my adult life. I am SO disappointed in the poor quality and short life of the Dobie pads now. They wear out quickly, seeming to lose the "spongy cushion" and getting holes in the netting much faster than in the past. I truly hope you can bring back the quality of a product I have used and depended on for over 50 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What Happened?

I've been using Dobies for years. For the past few months they fall apart after only a few uses. I see I'm not the only one who's noticed this. Do I have to go find another kitchen sponge?

why is my dobie turning black???

I love this sponge. It doesn't keep yucky food particles in it, it stays clean but now...it keeps turning black and I have to throw it away. I even tried another Dobie that was flat and soft on one side but...it turned black. Is it my dish detergent, my city water? I want my dobie back!

I was a big fan of Dobie Sponges for years as others have commented but I have to agree the quality of the sponges has deteriorated so bad that after one week, the sponge looks like a sponge from a bag of cheap generic sponges. If the old Dobie quality isn't being brought back, it shouldn't be called Dobie because its advertising a higher quality product than it the new product actually is.

Quality seems to have dropped

I am a lifelong Dobie user, but over the last several months they have not stood up to the challenge. I don't know if they changed the materials they use, but the scrubbie sheaths have been tearing fast; sometimes after only a load or two of dishes. I sure hope they fix this defect in materials asap, because the other products on the market don't stack up much better.
