Not as good as they use to be

I have use the Dobie for over 30 years and I have to say that the quality has gone downhill. They use to last forever it seemed, now one lasts for maybe a month if I'm lucky. I'm ready to start looking for a new product to replace my once favorite Dobie. :(

Poor Dobie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dobie sponge product has been in my household for as long as I can remember, First my mother's only sponge choice, and then mine, we are talking decades now. However, over the past year or more, I have noticed that the Dobie wears out so much quicker than in the past, as no longer resists molding.I never remember Dobie holding that moldy/mildew smell in all the years of use. What happened?

I, too, have been a faithful Dobie scrubber user having used them most of my married life. The last few scrubbers I have bought have fallen apart within the first two weeks of use. This last scrubber took the cake, the cover having come open after three, THREE, uses. I will not be spending my money on any more.

Don't hold up like they used to...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these. Have been using them exclusively for years on my dishes. They never scratch and do a great job getting all the gook off. My only complaint and reason for taking off a star is that the material on the outside of the pad seems flimsier than it used to be. The pads start getting tears in less than a month when they used to last 6 months or or more. On the plus side it means I get a new clean fresh sponge more often so maybe it's ok.
I would recommend this to a friend!

SO disappointing!!!!!

I have been a faithful Dobie Pad user for almost 40 years, and have frequently bought them for other people as a strange-but-really-useful gift. I had stockpiled several 3-packs a few years ago, and finally just ran out. I went to a local well-known department store to purchase new ones and opened the package, surprised to see that the size had changed! As noted by others, the new shape is more square than rectangular. O.K., I thought, change happens. I can deal with this. Or so I thought....After using the pad for only two weeks, it is already unraveling, exposing the sponge, and I am doing nothing different than I have done for almost 40 years. I thought that maybe it was a lemon, so started using a different Dobie from the box--same problem developed within 4 days! I am totally disappointed in the reduced quality of your once fine and now formerly indispensable product.

Dobie-What happened?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a satisfied and faithful user for more than 20 years. I was just wondering if you have figured out why all of sudden the Dobie pad after a week or so it shrinks down to a flat square, then it's pretty useless. I have never own a dishwasher, but had 5 dishwashers ( my boys). I don't want to stop using them, because there isn't anything out there that even comes close. But I can't continue to buy them all the time.

Now the Dobie Pad becomes blue after couple weeks of using Why?? It was never like that. I have used the pads for years using each about 3 months worth of sink dishes cleaning. etc. Now it gets worn out and the yellow turns a blue ugly color after only 2-3 weeks. Why? You just want made it so people throw it out sooner and buy more!!
