Worst thing to happen to moving ever!

The retractable blade will not under any circumstances come close to cutting the tape. The retractable feature actually makes it more dangerous and almost guarantees some variety of injury trying to make it work. Returning it to the store same day I bought it. One star is too kind.

DANGEROUS product revision

i want my OLD dispenser BACK = the one that WORKED. I expect that some govt. do-gooder insisted on this DANGEROUS CHANGE WHICH MAKES THE DISPENSER totally UNWORKABLE. IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE OLD DISPENSERS, WITHOUT THE STUPID PLASTIC SHIELD, THE ONE WHERE THE CUTTER STAYS READY TO USE, I'LL TAKE 3 OF THEM. OR send me info on how to make this one work like the old one did.

This thing is terrible. Like. Literally the worst. It actively makes taping packages harder.

Very light and soft handle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this! It is red which makes it easy to find. Handle is nice and soft. It is so light! This is my favorite thing. Very easy to use so much nicer than my older one. It is made very well and I should get alot of use out of this.

Excellent craftsmanship, some design issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent craftsmanship! However, the handle is a bit short so if you have large hands this will not be a comfortable product to use. Also, the instructions say "the serrated cutting blade will 'pop out' to cut tape". However, there is no mechanical movement like there is with packing tape dispensers I've used.

Easy to use and control even if you have smaller hands, this tape truly is heavy duty and the comfortable handle make your packing work a little easier!

Great Heavy Duty Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape Dispenser is a great overall product. It truly is heavy duty so can handle extensive usage. The foam handle provides comfort while holding and using the dispenser. The tape provided was also quite heavy duty, so you don't have to fear your taping won't hold up. My only complaint was the assembly instructions were a little unclear and confusing. They don't mention there's a protective guard on the blade that you have to remove. So be sure to take that final step, and this tape dispenser will work wondrously! The tape glides smoothly off the roll, and the blade cuts quickly and efficiently. 3M provided me with a free sample of this product for my honest, unbiased review.

Saved me taping hassle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape Dispenser came in very handy when packing up boxes to move. It's also a lot easier to keep track of than a roll of tape on it's own, you can't miss this when you put it down! The tape rolls smoothly and the tension knob is a pretty cool feature helps me to control the speed of the tape roll, do I want to tape like a madwoman or someone with sense, those are the tensions that we've called them. The handle on the dispenser is comfortable for my hands it's got a bit of padding that helped keep my hands from getting blisters. The tape itself is strong, it held up to my tendency to overpack boxes. I was spared not losing any dishes from tape that fails! This product lives up to the Scotch 3M ruggedness!
