Stay Away, doesn’t work

If I could give it no stars I would. My very old and reliable tape dispenser broke so I bought this one. I normally read reviews before making purchases but given it said Scotch and 3M I trusted it had to be the best. WRONG. The tape does not cut off. All the reviews are accurate now that I have read them. Do not buy this, you will frustrate yourself. I do not recommend this dispenser. I can’t believe I have to now do research to find a good tape dispenser
This would be the perfect gift to someone you don’t like.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i want my OLD dispenser BACK = the one that WORKED. I expect that some govt. do-gooder insisted on this DANGEROUS CHANGE WHICH MAKES THE DISPENSER totally UNWORKABLE. IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE OLD DISPENSERS, WITHOUT THE STUPID PLASTIC SHIELD, THE ONE WHERE THE CUTTER STAYS READY TO USE, I'LL TAKE 3 OF THEM. OR send me info on how to make this one work like the old one did.

Piece of junk!

Wish I had read the reviews before buying! Totally agree with everyone , this model is a piece of junk. I think the safety shield is too big and hides the blade. I’m wasting more tape trying to cut it then I’m using to seal the boxes.

DOES NOT CUT!

As other reviews mention, this tape dispenser does not cut the tape. So frustrating. This dispenser is not inexpensive, and yet I am having to use scissors with it. The previous Scotch dispenser I had for years, was awesome. This one is terrible! I'm so sorry I threw away the receipt.

Unfortunately for me I did not check reviews before purchasing this dispenser. I thought it would be better than the one I had, but much to my dismay it was not! No matter how I try to cut the tape it does not cut, merely puts dents in my boxes and then I have to use scissors. I don't like it at all. I hope the next person thinking about buying this dispenser reads these reviews first.

Terrible, won't cut tape

Will not cut tape, horrible design, do not buy. I've tried watching videos on how to make this thing work and it doesn't help. Blade doesn't come out far enough to cut the tape. Awful design
