Worst tape gun I have ever used

This is the most dangerous tape gun I have ever used (and I've used many over the last 20 years). The tape stuck to the metal piece behind the cutting edge and would not come off. When I was finally able yank it off the metal piece the tape pulled out so fast that I cut myself on the cutting edge. Then the tape dispensed too quickly. No matter how I stored the tape gun the tape would always wind up stuck to the metal piece again. (And yes I do know how to load a tape gun.) After it cut me the second time I gave up and returned it. Luckily I still have the tape gun I've been using for more than 15 years and it works like a charm. The only plus about this one is that the grip is very comfortable. Staples -- please redesign this product!

Overall this is a great item but you have to deal with the tape after each cut. It doesn't stay in place and ready for the next application. You usually have to hold the tape back in place when starting your next application.

Unfortunately I accidentally dropped the dispenser and the plastic spool where the tape roll slides into...broke. Now I cannot use this product to dispense tape. Granted I dropped it but I would have assumed it should have taken a little more abuse than that... so I guess I will stay with the convenient one tape plastic dispensers. Also some instruction on how to load the tape would have been helpful. The cutter is sharp and you don't want to be experimenting with pulling the tape across it...

I wish I had looked here before I purchased because I would not have bought this product. I have tried to load this several different ways and have been completely frustrated with the results. There are no directions no arrows nothing to indicate how this loads and works. I came to the site in hopes of finding something to show me how this works and nothing. I will never buy another one of your * Staples brand* items after this experience.

Perhaps I'm stupid but I am guessing on how the tape is supposed to run through the dispenser and I think I'm guessing wrong because the tape gets stuck on the little metal tabe on the bottom. Simple directions would have been helpful. Very disappointed they weren't included. I would not recommend this product because of the lack of directions.
