Got this to test out. Came with a charging cord but no ac adaptor. Light feels great and I like that it has a pen light as well. The built in ruler is a feature I didn’t know I’ve needed! I use this around the house and at work and it’s lightweight but not light enough to not know it’s there. All in all I love the light!
There's so much to like about this flashlight! The modern USB-C charge port to start with, it's nice that Coast is using this industry standard. I love pocket clips and magnets to provide hands-free options (it's hard to work with one hand). I love the battery indicator, so I can see if I need to charge it before it goes dead. The two lighting options are great to have, depending on each unique situation. Two thumbs up!
I have used this for the past 2 weeks. I work in the automotive field. It is a must to carry a pocket light. This light is perfect! The battery lasted me 2 weeks so far! Very useful magnetic feature, also the 2 levels or brightness is perfect. Also a big plus on the size and the rechargeable option!
Field Testing Review: The PM50R is a lightweight polymer flashlight with an IP54 storm proof rating and a sealed Zithion rechargeable battery. Unlike other Coast lights, this one uses the USB-C charging port and provides a USB to USB-C cable. The light features a 105 lumen spot beam inspection light at one end and a red magnetic tail cap at the opposite end. The spot beam is clean, as always, and provides ample light without a lot of reflective feedback. As a mechanic, that's important when looking for something specific in an area and not having all the other shiny metals glinting heavily. The COB area light is over an inch long with a high and low setting (with 185 and 32 lumens, respectively). I bench tested the primary lights and found: the spot beam (105 lumens) lasted 7 hours continuously, while the area light on high (185 lumens) lasted 6 1/2 hours continuously (give or take 15 minutes). The light took approximately 3 hours to fully charge after each bench test. Obviously, it is rare to need a pocket light to be ran continuously for that long and should last several work days before needing a charge. There's an etched ruler that is accurate and comes in standard on one side and metric on the other. The magnetic tail cap holds the light at every angle without issue but will fall if bumped hard enough. I accidentally knocked it off twice, with a 9 ft fall each time, and the light kept working (it is not drop rated). My only issue with this light, is the pocket clip, relative to the length of the light. The light is roughly 6 inches long and the clip is not strong enough to keep it secure, should you put it in your pocket. When bending/squating, the light with come out of your pocket. The light also is longer than most shirt pockets, so a cargo pocket or longer arm sleeve pocket may be a better fit. With it's light weight, it's easy to forget you have it. The power button is easy to manipulate and after 5 seconds, will allow you to bypass the cycles to power off directly. Overall, it's a solid, durable, multipurpose inspection light. I'd recommend this for tradesmen and inspectors who need such a multipurpose, lightweight, pocket light.
I'm a Master Auto Mechanic and the light is definitely a must to have. It's great when I'm inspection a vehicle and I have this in my pocket. Along with being a spotlight it's a flood light too. The battery lasts a long time. I have charged only once since I have had for over a week. It does have a battery indicator to, so you do know when to charge it!
The Coast PM50R is a perfect pocket size flashlight. It is lightweight and stays in your shirt pocket with the strong clip. The battery life is excellent and recharges quickly with the USBC charger. I really like the option of having a spot and flood light. I wish the spot light had 2 brightness settings like the flood light does. Sometimes I could use a little brighter light on the flashlight end. I would gladly sacrifice a little battery life for a brighter light. The magnet is strong and holds the flashlight in place. The battery life indicator is very helpful. Overall this is a great product and I would highly recommend it.
Seriously! This light will stick to anything and light up everything you point it at! I use this light mainly at work while working on cars, and with its small size it fits in all the nooks and crannies. What really makes it stand out is its light weight which means it doesn't get knocked down that easily. You can bump it and nudge it while working and it stays put even the uneven or rounded surfaces like the exhaust. The battery life is incredible too! I've had this thing for a week, use it daily, and it still has half a charge left with full brightness. All I know is this light is my go to for when I need a 3rd hand while I'm working.
I am very impressed with the quality of the flashlight, first of all it is very light, almost feels like you aren't carrying it in your pocket. The charging port is very convenient, the type C cable is becoming the most popular all across the board so you can easily find one if you don't have your personal one, the cover seals it nicely to avoid any kind of debris from entering. The magnet is strong and will hold the flash light's weight nicely, I work in the aerospace industry and I am very pleased with the convenience and performance it provides, specially having a built in rechargeable with the battery status light.
