Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is a great way to make barista level coffee at home without the high markup. I love that I can use whatever beans I want, and they are freshly ground on demand. This makes my coffee so fresh, and I like that I can make both espresso and lungo shots. I also like that I have the ability to brew decaf coffee that has been ground already, while keeping my caffeinated beans in the machine. The only things that make it harder to use are the short opening under the espresso spout- you will need a short mug or espresso cup. The drip tray isn’t very useful since the space is so short anyway. The ground espresso “pods” created after brewing can be messy, and sometimes leaks while brewing. However, these are the only minor issues I had using the machine. Overall it does a great job of brewing high quality espresso, and it takes up less space than a traditional machine. Highly recommend!

Better with an actual instruction manual

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Baristina works really well once you find the instructions. The QR did not take me to the right spot, and even searching for Baristina on the Philips website did not bring up the product. I eventually found a YouTube video on how to use the Baristina and the actual Philips website page that gives you tips on how to adjust for cup size and intensity.
The design of the coffee maker is sleek. Also, it is not very loud when grinding coffee beans. I'm also having fun watching the portafilter moving one side to the other.
Cleaning takes a little bit since it calls for pressing down on the button on the portafilter to get the water out it. There's a few times where I thought I got all the water out of it and then ended up either getting water on myself or the floor. Also, I've taken to leaving a paper towel underneath my mugs since I use large mugs and don't like having to clean stray coffee grounds and dripping coffee after moving the mug away.

I love this espresso maker!

It grinds the beans and makes an expresso quickly and easily. The cleanup afterwards is a breeze. It has a small footprint so it easily fits on any countertop. I can wholeheartedly recommend!!!

High Expectations, Lowered by Poor Machine Quality

I bought this machine around August and while I love how creamy it pulls, and that the machine offers a grinding option at a lower price. The actual machine is just poor quality. 1) it’s extremely difficult to clean 2) the espresso handle is automatic but stopped working after just a month of use so now we have to manually move the handle from the right side to the left side of the machine. That wouldn’t really be a problem if the espresso grounds stayed inside the handle - but it will easily spill out the contents sometimes getting the ground beans into the espresso shot. Even with the automatic function worked, it would still spill out the grounds very easily. I really want to love this machine but I’d rather recommend people buy a product that is easier to clean and actually works. I honestly think this product could be fantastic if there was a way to easily access the inside of the machine to clean it and the automatic swipe option was taken out and instead replaced with the ability to just manually move the espresso handle. Also in the attached photo you can see how the grounds have fallen and they accumulate in a hard to clean area
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
