I have used my saw to trim a tree and it worked perfectly. However, the next time I attempted to use it, it wouldn't run. I have charged and re-charged the battery to no avail. I tried to contact Greenworks on the Help Line leaving a very clear message only to receive a "Thank you" for buying their machine and an ad to buy something else. Not Happy!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I picked up the pole hedge trimmer chainsaw combo as a utility tool around the yard. I have used both attachments for tree trimming and limbing, and it has made short work of everything I have thrown at it. I also have the weed trimmer, lawn mower and leaf blower. The system just works great.

Hedge trimmers great, pole saw not so much

Used hedge trimmers and pole saw for the first time. The hedge trimmers are great. The chain fell off the saw about five or six times. Power is good on both but really frustrating if it’s going to keep falling off like this. It becomes a two person job to get the chain back on constantly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New chains tend to stretch; so be sure to check the chain tension frequently and tension as required. However, be sure to never tension a warm chain before storing as chains shrink when cooling and this can damage the chain, bar and saw. Please ensure that when you remove the side cover that the following parts are there and in order: sprocket (chain wheel), chain wheel washer and finally the c-lip. These parts are imperative when it comes to keeping the chain on. If you notice any of these parts missing or you are still experiencing issues, we highly recommend that you give our Customer Care team a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS), so we may learn more about the circumstances in which the tool has failed and further assist you.

Chain falls off, inefficient. Otherwise would be good

Chain falls off and can't be tightened enough. Rattle im the motor unit that arrived that way, a bit annoying.

Short to long made easy!

I received this pole saw a couple of weeks ago and was waiting desperately to try it out on one of these cedars in our woods. Cedars are one of the hardest and most aromatic trees around. This particular tree had a low branch that was always in my way. Most of all, for safety issues wear goggles. My favorite feature is the telescoping pole that adds a few feet with only a twist. Most saws have a screw bolt type connection that takes time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor Clunky Top-Heavy Design

Really disappointed with the design on this Greenworks product. It's very top-heavy - almost unusable at full length. It has a 3-piece shaft which suggests lots of lengths available, but in the end, the only option is full length, or removing the center section to reduce a couple feet. Even this sounds easier said than done - the interface between the sections is poor, requiring delicate work to get them assembled and brute-force to pull them apart. Highly impractical to adjust length in the field. It's so unwieldy I actually couldn't find ANYthing in my yard to trim with it. Very disappointing. I'm going to find a telescoping pole-saw that is infinitely (and easily) adjustable and has better balance with more weight at the hilt and much less at the tip - even if I have to go corded or gas-powered.
