Very light duty but I works. I guess it needed 2 screws to hold the bar

Chain came off at least 5 times in first 30 minutes. It has only 1 stud holding the bar in place. It might work better with 2 studs. I tried tensioning the chain more loose and more tight - the best I could do was tighten it then drop back 1/2 turn on tensioner screw. I like that it has a long pole and has the battery in the base part so the chainsaw part isn't too heavy. It is pretty light duty.

Hello DougG123,
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have experienced an issue with the chain not staying on. New chains tend to stretch; so be sure to check the chain tension frequently and tension as required. However, be sure to never tension a warm chain before storing as chains shrink when cooling and this can damage the chain, bar, and saw. Please ensure that when you remove the side cover that the following parts are there and in order: sprocket (chain wheel), chain wheel washer, and finally the c-clip/retaining ring. These parts are imperative when it comes to keeping the chain on. If you notice any of these parts missing or you are still experiencing issues, please kindly visit our website and use the customer contact page to send us a message or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757, we would be happy to assist you with this matter!

Wielding a 10-ft chainsaw is no picnic, but this one’s more nearly cake

I just added the pole saw and trimmer to my Greenworks array (mower, snow blower, other bone fides). So far I have used the saw for branches up to 3 inches in diameter and the trimmer mainly on an ungainly thicket of forsythias. Afterward, I used the trimmer “off-label” as a weedwhacker to clear weeds and tall grass, thanks to the articulating trimmer head. The trimmer works surprisingly well in this way, cutting a wide swath that line trimmers can’t. The work took hours, not because of the tools but because of the scope of the project. All this was possible with a 5-amp battery on a single charge. That battery is heavier than the included 2-amp one. But that’s an advantage, as it is a better counterweight to tool head, especially the saw when fully extended.
The tool heads (saw and trimmer) work as well as you can expect. The saw cuts like butter, as they say. And the trimmer is sharp and doesn’t clog. But there are several minor ways the base and extensions could be improved. The base features a fixed, extensible pole. If that pole were detachable and the tool head could attach directly to the base for a shorter tool, that would add versatility and maybe even eliminate the need for a conventional trimmer or saw. Also, connecting the fixed pole to the tool’s shaft (or the accessory extension in between) is made tedious by two-inch threaded connections. A bayonet mount would be faster and easier, although the threaded system was likely chosen as more robust and because it helps alignand cinch the coupling. That tight fit also means the sections are hard to separate, however. Something might have been added here for leverage or grip. As with other Greenworks tools, the shoulder strap is rudimentary, and its clasp is easily bent and won’t stay on. What this tool really needs is a harness that attaches to a fulcrum so that you could better put your back and shoulders into it. As it is, using this device is an arm workout, made none the easier because the lower handle offers little purchase. (How’s your backhand?)
These are quibbles. This kit solves a lot of problems for me, affordably and, I trust reliably.

The chain immediately falls off unless the blade is absolutely perfectly perpendicular to the limb you're cutting. So disappointed. I have half a dozen other 60v items I absolutely love, but I sadly do not recommend this products.

Hello Brandon H,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We regret to hear that you do not recommend this product. We would recommend reviewing the tensioning steps as outlined in your instruction manual. Ensure the chain tensioner is tight enough to keep the bar from moving. Should you require further assistance, please contact Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934.

The saw arrived well boxed, easy to assemble, and works well. Shoulder strap helps take the weight off hands and arms. important to make a small cut on bottom of limb to avoid pinching.

So far it’s a great saw but it arrived without the battery and charger. It took more than a month to finally get it during which I had to write many emails. The communication on the status was very poor. I was ready to make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau when it finally arrived. There was no communication that it had shipped. I think they have good products but the company is very poorly managed
