I am an 88 yr old woman who loves her new brushless 16" trimmer. Went around my big barn in a 1/2 hour! I could never start my gas one-this is so easy and well balanced. I highly recommend this purchase

Powerful and quiet

Only used for a few hours now but overall I’m very impressed. It is as powerful as my gas Ryobi string trimmer but very easy to use quiet and low vibration. It is about as heavy as a gas trimmer with a 4 or 5 amp hour installed. Spare battery is recommended if using for an hour plus at a time. String head worked well for loading. I did not experience shutdown issues fro excessive load except when the head became tangled in some landscape fabric. Overall very happy with the purchase. I didn’t think I would be able to completely retire my gas trimmer but it appears to be able to do everything that it could.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Heavy and not well balanced

After my first use my arms are exhausted. I used the provide strap but it is not attached to the tool at the center of balance and you need a special wrench to move it which I don't have and they didn't provide. I'm going to work on getting the balance adjusted but it could have come that way out of the box.

Hello Noah Hurry,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! Our Designers and Product Developers will occasionally read these review, so we really appreciate it when customers tell us what they think and share their experience with us. we do not recommend modifying any part of the unit; modifying the string trimmer would void the warranty. We do recommend adjusting the handle. This adjustment can provide a better balance between the battery and the base. To adjust the balance of the unit, loosen the screws to move the auxiliary handle up and down the shaft till you are comfortable.
Should you require further assistance, please contact Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934.

Line Feed Difficult
on March 14, 2022

Product received with no defects and had it for about six months. Putting the line head on is difficult. Does not snap into place easily. Had to get a male neighbor to help. After replacing the line the first time, only one side would feed. Took apart the head as per instructions which is not the easiest. Once again getting the head to "snap" back in place was difficult. Line feed worked for about ten minutes then again one side would not feed. I didn't purchase this as a single line trimmer. Very disappointed in the trimmer and will have to look for another brand. I have several other Greenworks products which I really like but this trimmer is awful.

Hello KB704,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the challenge you are experiencing with your string trimmer. One of the highlights of the Greenworks Pro string trimmer has to do with the Load N’ Go trimmer head. The trimmer head on this unit is made for easy replacement of the string on the spool. We understand that for some new customers this task may seem overwhelming/difficult but once they do it a few times it’s quite easy – as easy as replacing a spool. It’s also cheaper and more convenient for customers to rewind the trimmer head because they can use any generic .080” trimmer line(purchased at your local hardware store) and save money on more costly replacement spools.
You will need approximately 15' of trimmer line at .080"/.095" in diameter. Note the hash mark on the knob and the hash mark on the spool cover, while holding the spool cover in place with one hand, turn the knob until the hash mark line up with the hash mark on the spool cover. Then take the trimmer line and feed it through one of the holes in the side of the head until there is an even amount on both sides. Then wind the line into the spool by turning the knob clockwise. If you wish to readjust the line or if the line has been wound too short, push down on the knob and wind it counterclockwise. Be sure to leave about 5 inches of slack on each side of the spool.
For demonstration, have a look at the following video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xMJH4NMsyg.
If you are experiencing issues with reloading the string, we would be happy to see how we can help! Kindly contact Greenworks at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

Avoid all all costs

First let me say that I am a huge fan of Greenworks tools! About a year ago I decided to step away from my fleet of gas powered equipment and go green. I began with the lawnmower and after extensive research I chose Greenworks 60V Ultrapower. My decision was a forward-looking one. The lawnmower exceeded my expectations and over several months I added a chainsaw, polesaw, hedge trimmer, blower, pole hedge trimmer, this string trimmer and most recently a tiller. With the exception of the trimmer and the tiller (missing handle attachment bolt) I have been extremely satisfied and impressed.
With regards to the trimmer, I have some serious remorse. From a design standpoint it is flawed. First, if you want to use it as an edger, forget about it. The battery does not latch in securely and constantly pop out and will even fall out. Second, the trimmer string keeps snapping off at the point where it exits the head. Thus requiring rewinding the head. I have tried other string brands, including those that work fine in my gas trimmers, with the same result. This brings me to my last major issue: the trimmer head. I have large hands but find the diameter of the trimmer head so large that it is extremely hard to grasp and remove/install. This is a problem as the sting is constantly breaking inside the head such that it will not advance. So I have spent more time removing the head and string, installing the head, threading and winding the string and trying to trim or edge.
I hung this thing up after the first month of attempted use. Each month I give it another try with the same results.
The other day, I decided this routine of trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome was insane. So, I wrote this review. Not only would I not recommend this to a friend. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. I do, however, recommend Greenworks and their 60V UltraPower line highly! For example, the first job to the chainsaw was to cut down and buck up to 30” oak trees that were dying. A jogger came by towards the end and asked if I did all that with my 18” electric saw and I proudly said “hell yes”.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
