I have had this 3 months. Took some getting used to after my gas for 10 yrs...need a smaller shield. The shield is way to big. I know electric but the trigger needs more play..took awhile to find a sweet spot between all on or lowered speeds along fence...also the battery is light but won't do an acre of fence driveway and a dozen trees. I use big heavy one from the mower and do all in one charge...love the power and no gas or pulling cord to start...
Bought 2 years ago (July 2021) for the convenience of the universal "attachment-capable" feature -- and along the way acquired Greenworks blower, Ryobi edger, and TrimmerPlus pole saw attachments. All have worked out very well for me and I've recommended it to several friends.
Used this a few times now. Not balanced very well with a 2.5AH battery, most of the weight is in the lower hand. Biggest gripe is it spins CCW instead of CW which for any right handed person ensures you get all debris thrown right into your legs. Walking backwards helps only slightly. And good luck doing vertical edges.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello James 216789,
Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns. Most straight shaft trimmers spin their string counter clockwise. As a result, when these trimmers are used to trim against a wall, they cut through the grass much more cleanly and efficiently when moved along said wall from right to left. While our string trimmer are not adjustable, for the best control and balance, ensure that you hold the trimmer by both the switch handle and the auxiliary handle. Stand with the cutting head tipped down at an angle in front, guiding the grass trimmer/edger in a semicircular motion around you. If possible, guide the grass trimmer/edger to the left to cut. The line will cut as soon as it leaves the guard, and the clippings are thrown away from you. If the grass trimmer/edger is not cutting correctly, the cutting line may not be feeding properly and it’s possible that the spool just needs to be removed and rewound - this can also affect the balance. I purchased this a few weeks ago with the 4.0 battery. It requires high power to really cut st. Augustin. Battery lasts only 30 minutes. Might have to return.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective

I bought like a month ago. I had to wait to get the battery. So, on the day of my first use I used it on our "rock garden" which is an area in my back yard that has been needing some TLC. This thing went to town and ate it up! I then used it as an edger and it did extremely well! I normally don't do edging with a string trimmer because the end result is not nery good but this trimmer do an excellent job. This is a well built machine.
The only problem I've had is that the string must not have been wound properly at the factory, because one side broke off at the head fairly quickly which required removing the head, the one bad point. The head is extremely hard to remove; I had to wedge the latches open with screwdrivers to get it off. And it was impossible to get back on until I put a little grease on the inside of the case above the latch holes.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful
Ordered this and received it about 2-3 weeks ago. Upon opening the box I noticed the trimmer end was scuffed and had dents in the trimmer head. These were not from shipping as the packing was good inside the box. Tried the online chat but it was a computer and it kept saying it didn't recognize the model number so I gave up. Trimmer seems to work fine but like I said...its only been a few weeks. Wanted to get in touch with someone to see why the trimmer looked used.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Quiet, Environmentally Safe

Hello gkyack,
We're sorry to hear of the condition of your string trimmer unit and the difficulties you had in reaching us. This is certainly not an experience we want our valued customers such as yourself to go through. Please note someone from our orders team will be in contact with you shortly to look into this issue further. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
I got this Because the site said 65 minut run time with the 2.5 AH battery. So I ordered this setup with extra 2.5 AH battery so I would be able to work a couple hours or there about. Boy I was wrong. It also stated 50 minut charge time. But that turned into over an hour. And the run time turned int 30 minuts for each battery. So eather the site lied or the testers did. It does have plenty of power. But I can not even charge 1 battery while I am useing the other because once I use the one it needs to cool before charge then charge over an hour. SSi I would Like to know how it was tested, Did your testers actually cut grass or set on their butt for 30 minuts and cut for 30?
Pros: Powerful

Hello Larry740
We are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the run time of this battery. The run time varies depending on the tool that it is being used in but also the load acting against the unit while in use along with operator technique and more. The run-time of a battery would depend on the load acting on the unit while in use (speed, terrain, unit height, grass height, and density). Please be aware that the more power being used from the string trimmer (i.e.stings trimmer speed, terrain, grass height, density, etc.), the faster the battery charge will drain. These are very rough estimates and each user's experience will be different depending on the use and condition of their batteries. The actual run time received ultimately depends on the load acting against the unit while in use along with the operator technique. We would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact our customer helpline at 1-888-909-6757.
