I am super happy with this. I had an older battery powered string trimmer that was pretty weak and only had one string. The first time I fired this trimmer up, it felt like going from a bicycle to a race car! This trimmer has tons of power to cut through this tough Florida grass, whereas the old one would just bounce off of some of these long runners that grow all over. I have a fairly small yard, but I can do the whole yard and still have 50% battery left. This is my fourth Greenworks tool, and it's great they all have interchangeable batteries. I have a 60V Mower, edger, leaf blower and now the string trimmer, and it is so nice not worrying about engines that won't start and the messing with gas and oil. I am a very happy Greenworks customer.

I purchased this to trim around my house, dog pen, and trees in my yard. It works great! Lighter and more convenient than my gas trimmer, and almost as powerful, I love the two power settings. The lower power setting is great for normal grass trimming and really saves line from breaking. The higher power setting is great for deeper thicker grass and weeds. I still use my gas trimmer for trimming real high weeds. The battery lasts long enough to trim what I mentioned at the beginning of this review.

Not going back to gas

Great string trimmer, I have two yards to trim and edge each week the 2.5ah battery has plenty of capacity for both yards, my only real complaint is the guard is to big for my liking, wish it was slightly smaller, I went from a gas trimmer which has a smaller guard which didn't get in my way when using it as a edger for curbs other than that I don't miss the loud gas trimmer at all, electric is definitely the future for me.

Good tool brand, sketchy batteries

I bought the trimmer last year and used it once. Threw the battery on the charger after using it and unplugged it once it said it was charged. Next time I tried to use the battery, it wouldn't work, and placing it back on the charger if just flashes as defective (blinking red) Since I didn't register for the warranty as soon as I bought it, and no longer have my receipt I am out of luck and cannot make a claim on the battery despite being within the 4 year window. My only saving grace is that I already owned a greenworks mower and have a battery from that, but that just means I have to charge the battery more often to get the job done and it's the heavy duty battery so I need to lug around a heavier trimmer now...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the Brushless String Trimmer. I can take it anywhere on my 3 acres and don't have to worry about running out of cord. Cuts through heavy grass, weeds and reloading cutting string is a breeze.

I’ve used both tools for approximately 1 month and have no complaints so far. Both work surprisingly well, have more power than anticipated, and 1 battery powers both tools while trimming and cleaning up the yard if my small single family home.
