This is a great portable Air Conditioner

This one is a winner. It is small enough to not take up much room. The AC-14100H is a powerful unit. The hose hooks up to the supplied window vent in a few minutes and you are drawing hot air out of the room and cooling the indoors. I leave it on low speed and it works well. Noise level is acceptable. The remote control is a jewel. This is a commercial grade unit with a high grade compressor. The compressor is the heart of the unit and I have high hopes that it will last a long time. New Air engineers did their job well. I bought it in the summer so we will see how the heater function works this winter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The unit is not even a year old, and now it tells me to empty the water....which I did... the unit will not restart! There's no water in the unit, yet it keeps telling me that there is water. Nothing works. Not happy. Very frustrated.

Really Makes a Difference

We just moved into a rental house with no a/c on the brink of an unusual heat wave in Colorado. We did not have the unit while it was around 104 degrees for several days, but we have used it since it has been in the upper 90's and it is really making a difference. It's not as good as having a whole-house a/c system, of course, but it keeps the living room and kitchen between 75-79 degrees in the heat of the day, while not having to blast it at full power. Since our house was built around 1960 - and has funky wiring - I am careful not to overload the circuits so I do not put it at max fan speed or the lowest temp. (We found we had to plug the unit into a min. of 20A circuit or it would trip the breaker after only a few minutes). Its important to mention we cannot close off the kitchen completely (no door) and we are keeping the bedroom and bathroom doors shut, so the cooling stays in the living room, hallway and kitchen which is open to a basement stairwell. The total square footage is around 510 combined. All in all we our happy with the unit and it is saving us! If we could close the area off completely the unit would probably work even better.

Good Unit

So far we've only used the AC portion of this unit. We have it in an upstairs attic bedroom of an old house that doesn't get much of the central AC due to only one vent. This unit was well packaged when it arrived and was easy to install, but is pretty heavy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this unit for my 2-car garage size work shop. It did a great job at keeping the shop cool in the summer and warm during the colder days. One nice feature is it's ability to control the moisture with it's de-humidifier. That prevented rust from forming on my machines when the garage doors would get opened during summers days. A great unit for the price and even better results! Highly recommended.

I just got the unit ac-14100h. I hooked everything up read the instructions and waited several hours and powered the unit on. It seemed pretty powerful and cool for about 5 minutes and then it shut off. The light started to blink and the number LED started to blink as well. To make a long story short. There seems to be a problem with the unit. I called customer service and they seemed to know what could be wrong the unit so they said the were going to ship out a new unit for exchange. So far newair customer service is excellent. So iam hoping that the new unit will be good.
