So, this model is a replacement unit for the one I returned. It's even an upgrade from the non-heater model it replaced. It's still a lemon. I let it sit for three days before setting it up, to let the coolant settle and rest. From the moment I plugged it in, it started to howl. Not just the loudness of operation, but the fan or some mechanism HOWLED. It still sounds like a jet engine. Level ground, full water tank, clean filters and all. It still sounds like it's having mechanical problems. It's ridiculous. And that's on the LOWEST speed. I tried it with fan only, still the same. When the compressor or heater operate, i can't sit within 10 feet of it or it hurts my ears. It's that loud. That means I can't even sit in half of my living room. The heater is a joke. It is highly inefficient. And, like i mentioned, it's the second lemon in a row. I've had it for less than 3 months. The only reason I'm using it now is as a stop-gap to find a better unit, then out it goes. And because of the pandemic, I can't buy another unit right now, and probably not for a while. I'm stuck with it - or nothing, which sucks. This unit is garbage, especially for the amount they charge for it. Stay away from it. Seriously, save yourself the trouble of having to ship multiple units to, by chance, get one that works without problems. Quality control is non-existent. I've been in regular contact with customer service, and honestly, this is a logistical and time-consuming nightmare. Customer service has been attentive and accommodating, but this has been an ordeal. And good customer service is not a substitute for an actual working unit. I am not going to bother sending it back, because it's such a pain to, for a third time, re-pack and haul a 70lb unit down two flights of stairs and two additional blocks away to a FedEx location. I'm just done. I gave it an honest try, but with only one unit that worked, out of the two models and 3 other units I've had to return, nah. Not worth it. Too many problems.

Shuts off whenever it feels like it. Can't even cool my bedroom let alone anymore of my house. And is extremely loud. Will never own another new air product EVER

Recently purchased a 14100E. Owned an older model that gave out after 10 years of use. I'm disappointed the unit did not come with the window kit. Why wouldn't it be included? I suspect it was either unintentionally omitted OR NewAir is trying to make $$ on a needed accessory and doesn't care that it inconveniences the customer. I've tried to contact NewAir without success. The phone just rings away. I'll call a few more times before I return the unit and write off NewAir.

I purchased this unit for my garage for when I exercise as well as when I work out there in the summer heat. This unit performed very well. When there was an issue with the unit, customer support wasted no time in sending a replacement. A very minor issue in my opinion.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the machine, easy instal and use. Fits anywhere and easy to move if you need to. The direction manual could be written clearer. If you follow the manual it doesn't separate using the system for heat or air conditioning...which it should. I loaded the water container and the machine kept shutting off when it reached 40 degrees. When in fact you don't want to fill the water basin for heat. The document does NOT mention that. The unit itself though was a great buy and the install super easy. I'd definitely recommend it.
