The MB was perfect until adding storage. For some reason its being slammed with all towers closed. Weird noises that couldn’t even make sense. Ports were horribly designed to just not make sense. Doesn’t support windows 10. Falsely saying this was able to support gen 4 storage. PCIe was so difficult to fix with so many errors adding wireless card with small PCIe1 slot

Dear Go_Unknown,
Thank you for your feedback.
We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if this motherboard will not POST or boot up after adding a new storage. To resolve this issue, check if the storage is compatible, working properly and installed correctly. If this was verified compatible and working, try to load optimize default inside the BIOS setup page. Additionally, you may need to update the BIOS if this motherboard is running with an older version. Updates for this motherboard are posted at: https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/others/z790-gaming-wifi7/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=Z790-GAMING-WIFI7 . Regarding your concern that this motherboard doesn't support Windows 10 and Gen 4.0 storage. Certainly, this motherboard is supports M.2 PCIe Gen 4.0 M.2 SSD, and it is fully-Windows 10 complaint. For Windows 10 to operate properly, ensure Windows 10 drivers are installed. If you are having issues installing a wireless card on the PCIe 3.0 slot, ensure it is working and installed correctly and the wireless LAN driver was installed. For a smooth and trouble-free build, we recommend to install Windows clean or fresh from scratch using this motherboard to eliminate any system errors or potential driver or software conflict.

I've probably built 100 computers dating back to the DOS days. It's been a long time since I had to return a defective one. This time it was 4. The first one wouldn't boot into BIOS. Second was all built, OS installed, cables all routed when I learned that it would recognize no USB device on a cable. Third would not boot into BIOS. The Fourth was a charm, one more snag, Microsoft saw the OS install as into a second computer. A phone call fixed that. Once I got everything working I'm very satisfied with the motherboard. I might add, all the computer's I've built for myself have been an ASUS, Intel combo.

It’s an ok motherboard. First one I got had WiFi issues and had to be returned. The fact you have to update the bios on it to be compatible and not fry my CPU was a bit annoying aswell. The connection points on it are not easy to access and the connections being near the heat sync is annoying, as even just brushing against the corner or it cut me pretty good. Overall it’s not the worst but so could be improved and I’ll probably be looking at different motherboards in the future.

Dear Why just why, Thank you for your comment. We do understand your disappointment with this motherboard and the inconvenience this may have caused if you had issues with WIFI and a BIOS update is required to support newer CPU core or architecture. Generally, you must install the correct ASUS motherboard Wi-Fi driver on Windows 11, as the operating system may not automatically detect it or might install a generic, non-optimal driver. This applies to any motherboard, regardless of the manufacturer, and a BIOS update may also be required to support newer CPU core. Got this and a new processor to update my system. Setup was easy, the bios was easy to use. I do wish the manual went over all the bios features but not a big deal. I’ve always had good luck with ASUS products.
