Paired with an i7 14700k, awesome motherboard, top notch quality and designed for gaming, make sure you install windows 11 as windows 10 wifi drivers are not supported. Very solid motherboard.

Very good mainboard and love the space theme! This is the 3rd exact ASUS Z790 board like this I have built with the i9 14900k and they have all worked wonderfully. You will need to download Armory Crate and all the Drivers, so either use the wired network port, a WiFi USB Card, or download on you other PC and put them on a flash drive, but no problem for an experienced builder.

The board works fine. It could be better though. ATX boards have a 9 screw layout, but this board only uses 6 screws. The front edge is unsupported. Then again, there shouldn’t be any reason to push anything firmly into the front edge. I also wish that the I/O plate was integrated into the motherboard. But that’s minor. Otherwise the layout looks good and it works. Aura worked once, then couldn’t find the fans. I switched to the free version of Signal RGB. It works fine.

I don't buy cars very often. I don't buy system boards very often either. I always say that people that buy cars every couple of years do not get a proper perspective on the advances that are made over the span of a few years. The same with system boards. Feature packed with the latest, with adequate ports for most all the current peripherals. Unlike cars, the price has not leaped up on a good system board, either! My PC projects are mostly photo editing with a dash of gaming thrown in. I am very happy with my decision! Being as I has mostly old stuff this has resulted in the purchase of a new case, CPU, memory, and power supply to get everything up to standards. All good for the PC economy.

I am just a noob computer geek who likes to do a new build every 3 years, I love Asus and putting them together, this i7 14700k DDR5 build to compare to my i5 1100k DDR4, OH the joy when I boot it up for the first time. I like and trust Asus products. yes, I am a happy camper :)
