It's Nice For A 2x Magnifier

2x magnification is acceptable for average use when you don't want to hold the glass close to your work. However 2.5x or 3x magnification is highly desirable when you get older or have a cataract or two to deal with while reading. True you must hold the glass closer and limit the field of view but that's the price you pay -- it's plain old physics.

We bought the magnifying glass for my son who has some major vision issues. It is well made a good shape for a man's hands and it works for reading the fine print

Do you believe in a higher power????

There were several empty pegs and nothing with a higher power. I wanted to look at a 3 or maybe more but it was all 2. Also interested in a full page magnifier and there was one but it was more than I wanted to pay. On another subject--the store could've been lit a little better. The clerk was nice and the store was clean.
