I bought this to use with my phone and a new Bluetooth capable record player I got. I have never heard my records in such good sound quality before. The noise cancellation is also genuinely amazing, I could not hear anything around me when my music was playing. I felt I got a lot of value for how much it cost as well.

Will not play CD's with noise cancel function.

I do not use Bluetooth and I bought this to use with my portable CD player, HOWEVER...
The unit must be turned OFF in order to play my CDs. Thus I can not use the NOISE Cancelling feature AT ALL.
Is there some way around this problem, if not , i will likely return the unit to the store.

In response to your inquiry, you absolutely can use the noise canceling feature while connected to your portable CD player with the headphone cable! The key is to ensure the unit is powered ON when you're using it with your portable CD player.
When the headphones are turned on, even if you're connected with the cable and not using Bluetooth, the noise cancelling technology is active. If the headphones are turned OFF, they'll still pass audio through the cable, but you won't experience the active noise cancelling or the optimal sound quality the WH-1000XM4 is known for. Good sound cancellation

Bought the headphones for the gym and they are Great headphones had them for about 6 months then they stopped charging and they’ll charge for 6+ hours and still not be charged. Tried different cables and outlets but they never charge. Really annoying

Buy at own risk

These are 200 pounds and the battery broke within 2 months. Won’t charge anymore. Try to go to Sony support and it sends me to an AI chatbot - no other options. If you buy these they will break.

The indicator will flash, and the headphones will reset without losing any pairing information. This can sometimes resolve software glitches that prevent charging.

After hours of research, I decided on the Sony WH-1000XM4. I was traveling and I needed something noise canceling. Everything is top notch for me with this headset. The fit is great. The sound is amazing. Truly noise canceling. I have recently started listening to audio books before drifting off to sleep. Even laying on a pillow the comfort is better than I could have asked for.

I received Sony - WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones as a gift from my father-in-law. I'd been researching brands and models for months and finally asked for advice from someone more knowledgeable than me. My father-in-law decided he'd just buy me the same ones he bought for himself.
