Bought these for my wife. She could not pair them. I paired them for her but she found them difficult when switching from sources.

For pairing issue, please ensure to bring the headset and the Bluetooth device within 1 m (3 feet) from each other.
The headset automatically enters pairing mode when pairing for the first time after purchasing, initializing, or repairing the headset. To pair a second or subsequent device, press and hold the (power) button of the headset for 7 seconds or more to enter pairing mode.
When pairing a device once again after initializing or repairing the headset, you may be unable to pair the device if it retains pairing information for the headset (iPhone or other device). In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and pair them again.

We're sorry to learn if the multipoint function on your WH-1000XM4 headphones doesn't work properly and the headphones won't pair with the device or won't connect with the device once paired. When using a multipoint connection, we recommend to download the Sony Headphones Connect app on one of the devices and make sure it has the latest update. Check with the “Sony Headphones Connect” app that the setting of [Connect to 2 devices simultaneously] is on. (Confirm that both devices are connected in the Device Currently Being Connected section of the app)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the best headphones I've ever owned. Period. It's not just that the noise-canceling capability is phenomenal (it is), it's also that the sound quality is fantastic. When I tried them out at home, I was stunned with the sudden silence they provided before listening to music. When I tried them on an airline flight, they not only provided magnificent sound with the engine noise gone (not just reduced) but also helped create a relaxing environment for the trip. The right ear has touch controls; just swipe a finger up/down for volume and forward/back for next or previous song. Cover the ear to quickly deactivate noise-canceling to hear announcements or conversations whenever needed. These headphones are simple, easy, and intuitive, and they're everything you would expect from Sony.

I bought this two years ago for listening to music while I practice dancing with other music playing. What I found out is that this head set is very sensitive to movement and it will turn on or off if I cough, moving my head a bit quickly. If all you need is to walk around and listen to music, then it is OK. However, after about half an hour or so, I found the tight headset is very uncomfortable. I have now been using my old Panasonic wired headset which is much comfortable than this. The noise cancellation works and music listening is fine. However, if you want to wear it for running or dancing, then look for something else.

If the Ambient Sound Mode or Noise Canceling function changes unexpectedly, it is possible that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned ON. When the Adaptive Sound Control is set to On, the Headphones Connect app detects your action or movements and adjusts the setting of the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control. If you want to change this setting, follow these steps:
-Open the Sony | Headphones Connect app, and then turn off the Adaptive Sound Control function. -Adjust the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control manually: Turn on the Adaptive Sound Control Move the slide bar to select the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control level.
And to ensure a comfortable fit and to use the unit for longer periods, please adjust the left and right slider. This unit has super-soft, pressure-relieving earpads foamed urethane that evenly distributes pressure.

They work amazing - but one ear is getting staticy

I bought them in Feb 2022 - they worked great all up until the last 2 trips I took. I only use them when I fly - as its the only time I need over the ear headphones. So total I probably used them around 30 times at an average of 2.5 hrs of use.. so VERY minimal use. and one of the ears has a lot of static when playing sound. it started off minimal but now its getting to the point where they are hard to use. hoping the warranty actually works out - since I got 1 month left. but we will see. updates to come when I find out.

Depending on the surrounding environment, wind noise may increase when the Ambient Sound Mode is turned on. In that case, cancel the voice focus with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. If the wind noise is still significant, turn off the Ambient Sound Mode.
If the issue still occurs, please try resetting and initializing the WH-1000XM4.

These headphones worked as intended and I feel did a great job cancelling noise and worked great for music and online meetings for work which was my biggest use. However after two months they broke placing them on my head. No, I don't have a big head and I wasn't rough with them. They appear to have a weak spot in them. maybe they fixed this with the newer version. As you can see by the photo I had probably only put them on my head about 30 times.

Have a very good sound, never had a problem for 10 months after purchase, until my charging port melted when charging. I fell burnt smell and when I check it is the headphone.

First off let me say I love my Sony WH-1000XM4! I love the sound, the Noise Cancelling they provide and how loud they get but smooth the sound is without hurting my ears. But their biggest downfall is the control function on their earmuffs. The touch/tapping functions are just not accurate or great. I tend to listen when I'm in bed and about to fall asleep but then they annoyingly skip or do something I didn't want them to do. Honestly, this is my biggest gripe and annoyance with these headphones, I still recommend them cause their sound is amazing but they REALLY need to develop a better way to handle the controls. I suggest actual buttons. I have a pair of Jabra Elite Active 75t & I LOVE their controls. Their sound doesn't co.e close to these Sony headphones but they've mastered the controls.

When you listen to music while wearing the headset on your ears, the headset will pause music playback automatically if the headset is removed. When the headset is worn again, the headset resumes music playback. It's totally possible to enjoy these headphones while lying down especially when wearing detection is off. By using the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can change the settings of the wearing detection automatic music playback pause and resume function and the wearing detection automatic power off function (the battery saving function).
