Brilliant Noise Can., Long Batt Life, Great Sound

I've had the XM3 for the last 1.5 years. I wear these headphones between 6 and 12 hours a day. The second they break, I'm buying the XM4 without further research or hesitation.
These and my iPad pro are my two tech products I can't live without in life these days. The quality of build is great, the battery life, I can't believe how long they run, even in my woodshop where the noise cancelling is a difficult task (and performed well).
The audio quality is pristine.
The things I hope they've improved upon? Pairing is a pain in the but to achieve (but rock solid once set), it should be easier to transition between devices (phone, ipad, computer). Sometimes voice pickup during calls (the microphone outgoing) is a bit touchy and sometimes it works well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Happiness is a pair of high quality easy to use and connect pair of headphones. They fit well and don't put pressure on the ears. The noice cancelling is exceptional. I love them!

worked great for two months

I bought these to be my goto head set for WFH, and at the beginning these were great. Now is a constant issue with the bluetooth connection, audio dropping, even when when the are connected with the wire, the issue continues. Today on 05/10/21 while on a call I could hear but when I spoke everything went silent and could not really be part of the conversation. This is very upsetting as I'm on the calls most of the day... the only thing that works great is the noise cancelling. Sad to say I'll be returning these and getting a Bose set. I need reliability and Sony is not delivering it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Please ensure your headphones has the most recent firmware installed. We also recommend resetting the headphones to isolate the issue.



To reset, press both the power button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously while charging. The headset will be reset. The device registration (pairing) information is not deleted. If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.

Can't connect it to any device!

Bought it because thought it will be better than my other headphones. No way. It starts from that it's not connecting to any device - neither to phone nor very new laptop!!! And it squeezes my ears so I can't wear it more than 2 hours.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We regret to hear that the headphones won't connect to any devices and squeezes your ears. This is definitely not the listening experience we want you to have. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn this into a better experience.



If you're unable to make a Bluetooth connection, please try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem.

Check that the headset is turned on.
Check that the Bluetooth device is turned on and the Bluetooth function is on.
If the headset automatically connects to the last connected Bluetooth device, you may fail to connect the headset to other devices via Bluetooth connection. In that case, operate the last connected Bluetooth device and disconnect the Bluetooth connection.
Check if the Bluetooth device is in sleep mode. If the device is in sleep mode, cancel the sleep mode.
Check if the Bluetooth connection has been terminated. If terminated, make the Bluetooth connection again.
If the pairing information for the headset has been deleted on the Bluetooth device, pair the headset with the device again.
Please ensure the software is also up to date using the headphones connect app.

TEAMS calls and browser audio issues

I really like these, they fit well, look good, sound great when used with a phone -- but recently, everyone sounds like a robot, when using with TEAMS, or attempting to listen to browser audio for CBT's or just a podcast while i'm working. I think I will be returning these, which bums me out. Guess it's back to my AirPods and wired headset for the PC.

My headphones have minimal noise cancellation once it is turned on. I thought this was sufficient until I encountered other similar quality noise cancellation headphones. I think that I may have a defective product.
