Honestly haven't tried these yet BUT I have their 2 generations previous predecessor XM2 and those are perfection in a box. They've weathered snowstorms (snow blowing covering them in snow) they've weathered 3 summers (mostly used for lawn mowing, getting covered in dust and fine trimmings) and countless recharges. They are honestly the best, so much so that I just bought new pads for them after normal wear from my relentless hours of usage. If this Gen is even half as good as the 2nd, I expect nothing but countless years of flawless performance. This is more a genuine review of the XM2s but if somehow the XM4s are even better then ill be flabbergasted

I've been using it in the gym, the noise cancelling is amazing! I didn't trust anyone until I bought it for myself. But I would recommend this to anyone. And it's not complex to use or anything. The only minor issue is that I think it may be my heads a bit smaller b/c when I lie down, it slips a bit off my ears. I'm not sure if that's an issue for everyone else. If you wear a hat or beanie, it would be fine.

Ok I've owned a bunch for sure...Sony WH-1000XM3, ...XM4, ....XM5, Bose QuietComfort Ultra, Sennheiser Momentum 4, HD650, Grado SR325, AKG702, Hifiman HE-500, plus all the earbuds you could ever imagine.
Here's the bottom line: buy the Sony WH-1000XM4. Sound-wise they'll stand toe to toe with any of the best cans and comfort is unmatched anywhere.
They truly are the sweet spot in performance vs price. If you go beyond these you'll learn an expensive lesson in diminishing returns so don't waste your time or money.

Great headphones. Honesty I was skeptical about the touch controls but these are the best controls you can ask for on headphones. They are pretty responsive.
Love how the headphones sound. Deep bass and the Eq in the Sony App lets you tune to the way you desire to listen to audio. Great for movies or music.
