Spotty Connection - Cuts out Every 30 Seconds

The Bluetooth connection is absolutely awful on these headphones, despite being less than a meter of proximity from the connected device. Every 15-30 seconds, the audio cuts making it really difficult to watch videos, listen to music or take phone calls smoothly. I've researched how to fix this issue, most recommended to change the setting in the app from prioritizing the quality of the audio to prioritizing a stable connection which I did, but there was absolutely no improvement.
I probably wouldn't even notice a difference in the quality of the sound, I just want to be able to get through a video or song without having the audio cut out 50 times. I know people that have the XM3's and they don't experience this issue, so it's probably an issue with this generation of the product. I've made sure that the software is updated and everything, so I'm really disappointed :((

Excellent ANC, optimal sound needs EQ

I'm probably one of the few who purchased these headphones purely for wired PC use (and if you're wondering, yes, the ANC works in wired mode and all app settings are saved in the headphone's internal memory). It is very noisy where I live, and the WH-1000XM4 handles this incredibly well, better than any other ANC or noise isolation headphones I've tried so far. To get the best possible sound quality you'll have to tinker with the EQ a lot though, or better yet, if you are a PC user like me, leave the app EQ alone, download Equalizer APO and google Amir's Headphone PEQ Filters to find a near perfect preset for these headphones. When properly calibrated the sound quality is truly excellent, but out of the box it is nothing to write home about. While these headphones also work in wired mode without being powered on, they sound positively awful this way. Luckily the battery lasts a good 20+ hours between recharges, so this is not something you'll ever have to endure. All in all these get a highly recommended from me, but if you're in the market for audiophile/gaming headphones and you don't need ANC, there are better options in the same price range.

Love them. Easy to use. Comfortable. I can wear them over my hearing aids and glasses. Noise cancelling is incredible.

Both my husband and I purchased these headphones because of the reviews. While they are a premium headphone and do have great sound cancelling quality...when it works. I recently was on a flight and the sound cancelling kept turning on and off without me doing anything. I had to keep resetting it through the whole flight. Also, we HATE having to use the app. I have tried to turn everything off, but every time I touch my right headphone, it makes a beep sound. So when I'm at the gym listening to music and doing an exercise that requires my right arm to be close to my headphones and it touches....beep. It's so annoying. They have made a nice headphone into something frustrating. Both my husband and I are sorry we purchased these. I often just use my cheap $50 headphones when I go to the gym because these are so annoying. Worst purchase ever.

Not worth it

I picked these up on sale after reading many positive reviews however, I was immediately disappointed. I could not get a good sound out of these no matter how much I adjusted the EQ, they just did not sound good to me. Either muddy base, or just too flat sounding. My $25 wired apple airpods sound better!
Not only do they not sound good, they are super uncomfortable. Hard plastic and they grab your head too tightly. Maybe this is just a characteristic of noise cancelling headphones...

WH-1000XM4 Left Earcup fell off after normal use

I purchased my headphones and had been enjoying them consistently for exactly only four months. However, the left earcup recently became loose and partially detached from the headband. While the audio still works, the headphones can no longer be worn properly due to the unstable earcup. This issue did not result from any impact or mishandling. I had simply placed the headphones around my neck, and when I went to put them back on, I noticed the earcup had come loose and would no longer stay in place. There was no dropping or excessive force involved. I take great care of my stuff including electronics, and this kind of issue suggests a potential manufacturing defect rather than accidental damage. I understand the warranty excludes physical damage, but in this case, this seems more so a manufacturer defect.
