I used this product 8 hours every for 5 days out of the week for about 2-3 years. It has worked well up to this point though has lost some functionalities as time went on.
The first function to go was the auto-pause when removing the headphones, which really important, but now I lost the main reason I got these headphones which is the noise canceling effect. Now when I use the Noise-Canceling functionality after a few minutes of use it will emit a high pitch screech.
Sadly it's past the warranty so I can't get them fixed. They still work well without the Noise-Canceling but I will need to replace them since I use them for work to block out loud noises so I don't have to blast the audio to hear over the machines.

Hi Leonardperry,
We are really sorry if the bass sound of our WH-1000XM4 didn't live up to your expectations. This is certainly not the news we'd like to hear from you. To isolate the problem, please try tweaking the Equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect app to revitalize your music. Deliver punchy bass or boost vocals on your favorite track with a simple swipe up or down. For more details, please refer to the following article: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00286844
I hope this helps.

We have used sony headphones for years. Over 20 pairs in my Landscape business. The active noise cancelling on the newer models is straight trash. Constantly switching on and off automatically.

Hi Jeff1987,
We regret to hear you are having noise canceling issues with your headphones. We’d love to help you troubleshoot your problem. When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.
To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.
You may refer to this link for troubleshooting steps to isolate and fix this issue: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wh-1000xm4/articles/00267839
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.

We appreciate you and thanks for sharing your feedback!
Headphones are technically competent but Sony will absolutely force you to listen to a human say "Power on" "power off" "Bluetooth device 1 connected" "Bluetooth device 2 disconnected". Noise-cancelling, except for all the noise it forces into your ears.
