[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OMG there are no words to describe these headphones! Literally the best headphones I’ve ever owned. And I’ve owned a lot (frequent gym rat here) these headphones aren’t lying when they say noise canceling. You can’t hear anything putting them on! So soft and comfortable that my ears don’t hurt after a hour of working out. The ear part adjust and when you take them off to talk or do whatever it actually pauses the music until you put them back on! Crazy right! I can’t tell you enough to GET THESE!! I love love love them and would highly suggest anybody looking for a great pair of headphones to get these!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just received my headphones, so far easy to use, sounds great, noise reduction good. My only disappointment is the short charging cable, I think for the price of these headphones the charge cable could be longer than 8"

Great while they safe and work!

I bought these a year and a half ago. I loved how they were comfortable and sounded until recently when they randomly started screeching this loud high pitch noise into my right ear! Honestly, I am very disappointed with this product quality given the high price tag. One thing is for them to break down, and another is to potentially damage someone's hearing. I will never recommend these to anyone and discourage anyone from buying them. You can find similar experiences on Reddit which means that this isn't an isolated event.

Better than Bose

I needed a new pair of noise cancelling headphones to help with overstimulation. My last pair was Bose and initially I got a new model but it was horrible! I did more research and found a lot of good reviews about this product. Day one and it is already way superb to Bose. The noise cancellation is way better yet I can still hear the people I am talking to. I love the touch features instead of buttons.

Didn't work a full year.

I absolutely loved these at first, the quality seemed spectacular and legitimately life-changing. But they suffer from a common failure which leads to an extremely high-pitched and hearing-damaging squealing sound issuing unexpectedly from one side or the other. A quick search online shows this failure was not uncommon on the previous version as well. That being said, if you disable the feature, the headphones remain usable and are otherwise of good quality.

Screeching noise when ANC active

Loved at first...but just over a year and I started getting this intermittent high-frequency screeching noise from the right ear cup...goes away when I turn ANC off... an internet search seems like I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Since past warranty Sony was no help...for the price I would expect a little lee-way on a warranty for one year!?!
I'm thinking of replacing but with my experience with the XM4 I thing I'll go with the Bose 700 v the XM5

Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. Make sure to update the firmware of the headphones by performing a software update (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. Doing so may resolve the issue.

You may hear noise (such as a creak, click, or static) through the WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones when traveling through tunnels, or other environments which air pressure changes easily, even if the noise canceling function is on. When the Noise Canceling function is set to ON, you may also hear a White noise (a small electrical noise with continuous static sound). If this occurs, temporarily turn off the noise canceling function on the Headphones Connect app. Also, please remove any obstacles between the antenna of the connecting Bluetooth device and the built-in antenna of the headset and keep the headset away from a microwave oven, wireless LAN device, etc.

We recommend performing the steps provided on the links below to refresh the content of your headphones.

Charging port almost caught fire

I went to unplug my headphones from charging and burned my finger. The headphones melted around the charging port and was smoking. I have taken very good care of my headphones and there was no reason for this to happen. Very disappointed and I’m out of headphones. I don’t know what to do.
