Don't do it if you expect to use for work!

I bought these headphones to use at work (Dell computer, running microsoft products). They are useless. In fact, more than useless. I don't even bother with bluetooth anymore. And when plugged in, most often I can hear the call, but no one on the call can hear me, or vice versa, and I revert to my plug in Apple earphones from 20XX. None of the manuals solve the problem on a long term basis, and there's never a support agent available... oh and since it's +30 days, i can't return.

We value your opinion and appreciate your feedback regarding the mic compatibility of this WH-1000XM4 on computer applications. Regarding wired use, the mic function is disabled when using the supplied headphones cable. These headphones are designed for music playback. We cannot guarantee that it will work flawlessly with computer applications.
For Bluetooth connection problems, first make sure your Dell computer's Bluetooth drivers are up to date. Please visit the support site of your computer's manufacturer for your specific model. Also, update the firmware of your WH-1000XM4 headphones through the Sony Sound Connect app, as this might resolve connectivity issues. The situation may be improved by changing the wireless playback quality settings. Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” in the Sony Sound Connect app.
When pairing, make sure you're selecting the correct device, wait for "WH-1000XM4" to appear on your device list, not "LE_WH-1000XM4", which might indicate Low Energy mode causing problems. If you're connecting to multiple devices, manage the Multipoint Connection feature correctly through the Sony app to avoid interference. Check if your device supports both HFP and HSP, when you make a video call/voice chat on your computer, select calling connections (HFP/HSP) and not music playback connections (A2DP). If you select music playback connections, the microphone/voice chat may not be available. Please note that you will notice a bit of quality difference.

I honestly had high expectations for this product and was amazed to discover they were far exceeded in every respect. The materials, construction, and finish are some of the best I've seen. The sound is clean and clear, and it's highly customizable via the app on your phone or with your favorite equalizer. They're extremely comfortable.

Absolutely love these headphones they're amazing for noise cancellation and the fact that I can switch from noise cancellation to turning on ambient sound for when I'm riding my scooter or walking or biking so I can still hear what's going on around me but then I can also choose to my noise cancellation turned on if I feel like just listen to music the sound is amazing and I love that I can download the app and adjust the settings to exactly the way I like them so any makes the best headphones!!

Great sound and smart features

A smarter version of the previous model. Great sound and improved noise cancellation are complemented by upgraded features. 'Speak to chat' feature is especially handy, it automatically recognizes your voice and pauses noise cancellation and music whenever you speak. Also, it is great to be able to connect my headphones to two devices simultaneously. Battery life is impressive as ever. Great experience.

Great, But PLEASE, PLEASE Bring Back VPT Surround!

I loved the XM3s. I mean absolutely loved. They were a god send and really transformed audio for me. Noise cancelling: perfect. Comfortability: superb. The XM4 is almost no different. When it comes down to it, the audio is better, the mic is better, and I even loved the full matte finish more. BUT, I loved the surround sound settings on the XM3. You could make it sound like you were actually in a club or concert. I mean, amazing. I never saw features like that before. But with the upgrade, they are no longer available sadly. I really don’t understand why they were removed. I thought it brought so much life to audio. If this weren’t an issue, I’d definitely rate 5 stars. Not 5, 10.
