Since purchasing the Sno Joe I have only had one opportunity to use it this year. Unfortunately the snow we received was preceded by rain thus the snow was heavy. Used the Sno Joe in some open spots and was impressed at its ability to "dig" in to the snow. Could not use it throughout the whole drive way. But I had experience with a friend's Sno Joe a few years ago and was very impressed at the effortless clean up the tool provided. Waiting for a dry snow.
Just received this unit about a week ago. Have not been able to use it as yet. Still September here in N.E. Ohio. I have purchased and used 4 other Sun-Joe products. I will say this, they are very well engineered, and built to give years of service! Extremely happy with my purchases!
I'm 82 years old and am tired of shoveling the walkway, etc. so I switched as many tools as I can to battery operated. I used the SnoJoe for the first time last week and was surprised at how well it worked. Cleaning my stairs and walkway was a breeze.
I guess it technically works as described. I'll probably never use it though because it's only somewhat effective on 3-4" of light, unpacked snow and only on very smooth surfaces. The 10" width means a lot of passes, but that wasn't unexpected. Just annoying in actual use.
I ordered 2, one for my son, for Christmas, and one for myself, since the price was so reasonable. I gave my son his shovel early because we were expecting 6"+ of snow before Christmas, and we got it. I used mine to work my way from the front door to my "real" snow thrower, and I was AMAZED at the power and throwing distance of this cordless shovel - no exaggeration! My son lives 18 miles north of us and got 2" - 3" more snow than us and HE was amazed as well. I'm do not normally leave reviews, but this product is SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED, I had to share. If I didn't have a brand new Cub Cadet snow thrower I'd order the big Snow Joe thrower, I have absolute confidence in their products - worth every penny.
