Almost exactly what I was looking for, missing a network plug and only has Wi-Fi. Resolved this by purchasing a usb w Ethernet attachment and it works. Cannot run VR but not a lot of laptops can as it is demanding. Runs programs fast, multi tasking works great, nice looking screen though it tends to wash out a bit when trying to adjust brightness and coloring but overall I’m happy

Finally got here, mostly does what I expected

I ordered this new laptop when my previous one started refusing to power up. While it was ready for shipping earlier than promised, it took over 2 weeks to arrive and got here about when promised.
This machine boots very quickly; Windows 10 came loaded on the SSD Drive. You will want the largest SSD you can afford because Windows puts everything on the SSD. Great for speed, but not so great for archiving. You will be doing a great deal of file management if you want to also use a HDD.
The USB-C port on this machine is under powered. You CAN NOT use a monitor or USB-C power supply through this connector. It works OK for mouse and keyboard. My plan had been to use a powered dock with multiple monitors. I can not do this using this hardware. HP customer service was very helpful in guiding my testing efforts for this. I used all HP accessories (dock and power supplies) and thought they would work.. Read supporting all documentation very thoroughly to check for compatibility before you buy.
