I've had this computer a few months now and have been very pleased with the performance. The only issue I have is a minor one and that is the keyboard seems to need a "firmer" touch than what I am used to. Like it takes a harder press on the keys to get some of the letters to work. Other than that......it's been great and I love the big screen!
9 year old desktop pc had 4gb's of Ram - why did I wait so long ? had a " square monitor !!! am I kidding ? That's it , enough is enough...bought an HP laptop a year ago just because so now bought a 2nd laptop to replace the old dinosaur..All Good. Just keep the wired mouse for the mrs.
I purchased this computer over a month ago. It has functioned so much better than buying it from a retail store. Not only was I able to customize the product, the descriptions of possible upgrades were helpful. The only two problems with me making a choice of USB ports, I wish I had more. And I am disappointed that I bought a blue ray burner, because it will not play my blue rays. Other than that I am pleased.
I have had my HP 17z-cp000 Laptop PC for two months, and it has locked up hard several times. Not doing anything special - just looking at a web page. No mouse, no ability to be ctrl-alt-delete. I have to force power-off. I have very little software on this computer and use it mostly for surfing the web. It replaced a 10 year old laptop that was slow, but did not freeze. Definitely not reliable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello there,
I'm sorry to hear that you've had a less than stellar experience thus far. I can imagine how frustrating this must be. I can assure you that we build our devices with the intention of providing a reliable experience for our customers, so here are some suggestions:
I'd recommend checking out this link for troubleshooting help: https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/diagnostics?category=computing&issue=lockup-issues There, you will find solutions for locking or freezing issues.
If this doesn't seem to work, I hope you'll reach out to us for direct support. We're always here and more than happy to help get your computer running optimally. You can get in touch with us via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP
I will also mention that HP products have a warranty from their purchase date, so you might make use of it if you need to. To verify the warranty, look for an icon on our support site labelled “Check Warranty Status.”
I am sure the HP will be a good computer when our technician finishes fixing the problems encountered after purchase of this custom-built product. Something was wrong with the driver in making an Internet connection that took time and expense to diagnose and fix. One other big disappointment is the lack of USB ports. In this day and age, most certainly two USB ports are not enough on any new computer.
Nothing but problems since I have had it. First had to send back for part for keyboard, now it will drop internet connection and to get it back working have to go in to Device manager and uninstall wifi driver reboot lap top to have driver auto reinstalled. works for a few days then have to uninstall and reinstall, new issue all goes black with error message have to force off then turn back on and seems to work ok for now.
In short, the screen is quite sizeable, and the power of it is more than enough for the few games I use it to play. Definitely one of the best systems in my possession so far, and that includes game consoles. Would recommend.
