My last 4 laptops and 2 printers have been HP simply because HP makes an effort to support the Linux OS. So far I have had good results with HP/Linux combinations with the exception of this most recent purchase, Product # 4V7P2AV. First issue was Windows and Ubuntu did not want to play well together. Windows would delete the boot partition for Ubuntu. I disabled “boot secure” and deleted Windows, Ubuntu works great. Second issue is RTL8852BE wifi adapter. Have not been able to install a suitable driver for Ubuntu recognize the wifi adapter or make connection. I love the laptop and it worked great in Windows, especially the wifi with a 5hz connection. Any assist that HP could give the Canonical team with the wifi would be greatly appreciated.
It is everything I wanted it to be except for the fact that the battery is inside, difficult for me to replace and this was not disclosed in the description before I bought it.
