I must have entered the pin for My wireless 5 times before it accepted it, I know My wireless pin by heart, the other thing I dislike is the backlit keyboard, the light grey keys make it hard to read the lettering, even with the keys lit up, other than those two issues it has performed just fine.
Quality item, runs great, but too much HP propaganda when starting for the first time. Shipping time was extended, but understandable when coming from Asia to the US.
Expensive considering the lack of standard feature

Unlike past purchases where it was easy to see all options to choose for a build because low tech people don't know all the possible features as technology changes so quickly I didn't get a feature I needed and should be standard on all machines. I built a similar computer in 2019 and wanted a built in DVD drive and was able to have that included in addition to standard features such as USB ports, microphone jack and SD drive. When I was building this newest computer for my husband the DVD drive was not even available but I didn't even thing to check that the SD drive (being a newer technology and used for camera, scanner, etc.) wouldn't be included.
Many computer people will say that there isn't a need for a built-in DVD because software is now downloaded rather than installed via a DVD but DVD's are still a popular way to watch movies, view stored photos or home movies. I just had several mini tapes, beta tapes and VHS tapes converted to digital through Legacy Box which means I need a DVD player. Sure I can get an external one but laptops are popular for the portability and having external devices makes them more cumbersome. Such is now the case for my husband's computer that I will have to purchase an external SD reader. Think about it...a tiny slot in the side of the laptop versus having another device to attach taking up a port and making the portability less applicable.
HP is a great product but the dismissal of a good way for customers to build what they want/need by showing all the possibilities is unfortunate. Of course, I can hear the techies reading this saying "what you bought will be obsolete in a year, so you'll just get another one" is the wrong thought process. The computer I bought in 2019 replaced one purchased (HP) in 2010. The one I just got for my husband is replacing one he bought in 2008. Obviously good products but if we have to buy accessories because they aren't built-in, I'll reconsider the purpose of a laptop vs desktop where the portability portion is not an issue. Disappointed in the outcome of an expensive gift that didn't even offer parts to consider.
I purchased this computer as a Christmas gift for my teenage grandson. He loves it. The screen size and memory are what makes him most happy. He enjoys the gaming keyboard and headset.
