Better than expected - cleared the packed windrow!

The first time that I used this SJ623E snow thrower was for fairly deep snow (6-8") and it worked very, VERY well - perhaps too well - the snow was very light and fluffy and the SnowJoe seemed to throw the snow almost 30 feet (partially covering the neighbour's two cars). Two subsequent snow falls were not so fluffy and the SnowJoe worked better than expected... it was able to dig in and clear most of the hard packed (almost icy) windrow left at the end of my driveway by the city's showplow.

Unfortunately, we haven't had any snow since we got it. However, I did try it out on snow pile that was still on the lawn. Old wet nasty, kind of packed snow. It did pretty good. I'll let you know how well it works next season.

The 18-inch, 30+ lb weight make the SJ623E very easy to maneuver while the 15 amp motor is more powerful than in many of the other models. Net result is a sweet spot of light weight and strong power, Easily handles 6" of wet snow on its first job. Suggestion: before using the first time, apply auto wax on all the interior parts that will touch the snow, including the auger. This will reduce even wet snow from sticking and gets a longer throw distance, too. Also wax the wheels as they can easily become ice coated and then they jam against the plastic main body (too little of clearance). Kinda wish I'd gotten the battery version as a heavy cord is a bit of a hassle, but the corded version always has full power, so I'm happy with it.

The Snow Joe SJ623E Electric Single Stage Snow Thrower is a powerful yet compact machine that takes all of the heavy lifting out of the equation. This machine cuts an 18" wide path of snow per pass. The 15 Amp motor has plenty of power to make the snow removal a breeze.
This machine comes ready to use right out of the box. Just unfold the handle, tighten the supplied connections, plug it in and you are blowing snow. It's really that simple. No tools, other than your hands are needed. There is an on-board tool for clearing the discharge chute should it become plugged with snow. This model even has a headlight in case you are working this at night.
I use mine for a double wide driveway that is 50' in length. It took me less than 10 minutes to clear 6" of snow. It actually took longer to get the machine out of the garage and fully unwind the extension cord than it did to clear the driveway.
This is light weight and easy to maneuver. the discharge chute is easily rotated by a crank shaft. I would highly recommend this snow blower.

This is a simple electric unit which fits my needs.It's light weight and easy to maneuver. This is a perfect size unit for the typical amount of snow fall we see in the Kansas City area. Highly recommend this model. Also the customer service I have received was fantastic! Do yourself a favor pick up one of these. Register the product online and purchase an extended warranty. It's a great deal all the way around.
