I had never looked into electric blowers before, until, my old gas one quit. I checked a LOT of reviews, did my homework, and waited for a sale! I was not disappointed! The first snow was 2-3" of powder, this machine handled it just fine! For a single-stage blower, it shot the snow out a good 10' or more! VERY EASY to assemble, just attach the handle and plug in! One lever engages the auger, one hand adjusts the discharge, SIMPLE! Very light, and easy to maneuver! Has a light if conditions warrant it! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!! PS; Should use a 20 amp circuit and use the proper gauge extension not longer than 100', anything longer or lighter gauge WILL affect the performance and longevity of the electric motor!! GREAT MACHINE!!
Last year - in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 feet of snow - we didn't even use our large snow blower. LOVE this light and easy to use Snow Joe. So much that I bought it for my rental property and one for my dad to clear their drive and sidewalks.
First big snow since we purchased the SnowJoe ! Much better than the 23 yr old Toro 1800 ! But it earned it's place in history before we laid it to rest . . . The SnowJoe tackled 8" deep snow with 18" drifts ! A good work out for it's maiden voyage ! Sorry, no pics as yet . . . More to come !
Tried it finally in recent snow storm of 01/04/17. Dept was 6 - 8 inches. You have to let it work you shouldn’t push it hard. Easy to handle inthis dry cold snow. It wasn’t a wet snow. I also had to battle the wind with this storm. It did good. You have to know also you deal with the electic cord also. Wasn’t a big deal. I also bought extra parts just in case
I recently bought it and tried first time 2 days ago. Because of blizzard snow level was very uneven, but on average close to two feet. When snow level is below one foot it worked fine, but above one foot it makes work very difficult - Snow Thrower gets stalled in the snow and it was almost impossible to push it forward. Light bulb stopped working after the first day (first try) of snow removal. However, using Snow Thrower is more productive and easier than using old fashion snow shovel.
We purchased this for our second home in the Poconos. Only used it once for a dry 3-4 inches of snow. Made short work of a large deck and around the driveway. It is relatively light and I found it easy to take up stairs to our deck. It is much more suited for a hard surface. We have stone in the driveway. It worked though can't clean down to surface without tossing some stone. Great price and appear well made.
