SJ623E Snow Joe

Bought this little gem 5 years ago. It worked, not much snow for 4 years. Last year it was a record snowfall. It is a back saver. Good for about 6 inches of dry snow. If you let it get deeper, its your fault. Wet snow is a bit of a challenge if you don't take time to keep the chute clean. It will throw dry snow 20-30 feet with the chute elevated about 1/2 from vertical. When the Snow Joe was brand new I removed the bolts one by one holding the rubber material attached to the auger and added a larger washer under the head of each to give more surface area support. This thing is a back saver. I would buy another in a heart beat if this one quit.

Great snow thrower!

I have previously owned older corded electric throwers which couldn't get the job done. I also own a 2 stage gas powered thrower, but I'd rather use a shovel than deal with all of the maintenance. This thrower is the perfect compromise. It arrived the day before a Michigan blizzard and only took 20 minutes to set up. I already owned a great 100 foot cord so I was good to go. Over the course of the storm I used the blower several different times so I wouldn't have to tackle the entire 16" at once. It was a powdery snow and the thrower did a great job. I have also used it on several heavier snows up to 8" and it still does the job (Maybe an extra pass or two was required). Next year I am planning on going cordless :)
Pros: Great Value, Easy To Use, Accurate Performance, Easy to store, Lightweight, Easy to assemble
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have to do a disclaimer, the video and picture are of my older 621 model. I sold it to my nest door neighbor and the purchased the 623. We have not had any snow since it was delivered, but if it works like the lesser 621, I'll be thrilled. Easy to put together, easy to store and oh yeah, easy to use.

A review of the assembly. It has not snowed yet

Pretty easy to put together. Mostly already assembled. I was disappointed that the plastic piece used to hold the extension cord does not hold an electrical cord. Basically, his piece was supposed to be put on in the factory by clipping it over the handle tube and then assembled, but someone for got to put it on, so rather than going back and attaching it correctly, they just cut it and clipped it on which means it just falls off when you try to use it. I fixed it with epoxy, but I'm annoyed that the first thing I had to do is glue a broken part caused by someone's laziness in the factory. It's not a big deal and not worth sending the product back, but I'm not going to give 4 or 5 stars to a product I had to glue together immediately before even testing it.

Hmmmm....not sure

I have a heavy gas snow thrower that works week but too heavy to get up on an elevated cement patio which prompted this purchase. I used the electric snow thrower for the first time yesterday with about 3 “ of snow. It worked well on flat surfaces and I did save time and energy having it. However, 3 arms would have been helpful to start the unit. Holding down the butter while pulling back on the trigger and holding onto the cord was tricky but certainly meant to be a form of safety. The biggest negative that that the chute only stays in the upright position. I have tried to tighten the bolt but it does not tighten to keep the snow shooting of the side in stress of straight upwards blowing on everywhere! For this reason, I would not recommend and had I paid more money or easy to return, I would!

Not for use on gravel driveways.

Bought it last year. Only chance I had to test it was on heavy wet snow...would not throw it. Tested today on 5" light snowfall. Kept digging into my gravel driveway, so I had to lean on the handle to keep the front up a bit, which was hard on my wrists. It did OK on the cement garage apron, but was only throwing the snow about 2'. I have a wide driveway. I used it with the battery. I have a smaller blower that I use with a cord, and that works fine. I was hoping to do away with cord control.
Pros: Easy to store, Easy to assemble
Cons: Difficult To Use, Lacking Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy to assemble and easy to use. Great for side walks and small driveways. I'm single & older so this is perfect for me. My only complaint is fussing with the cord, but at least I don't have to worry about pull starting. Hit a switch and ready to go.! Also very easy to register for warranty.
