This unit is just the right size for doing our driveway (1800 square feet). Used 6 times this season (not much snow on the west coast) so far and I have been impressed with it. I have not had a snow blower before; this one cut my driveway/ sideway clearing time by 2/3s compared to shoveling. Got to use it on wet and dry snow and it worked on both. Dozers through 6" without skipping a beat but works harder at 8". With 6" I could pretty much walk at a normal pace without slowing down and the unit just kept clearing snow. Make sure you cast snow off areas not cleared yet as the cast snow tends to compact the snow it lands on...that packed snow is not this units friend. The swivel handle for the chute works fine and is easy to reach while working. The cord hook could be bigger - I could not loop my heavy cord through it. The plastic construction worried me but it has made it through season one with nothing broken so here's hoping that continues. I would recommend this unit.
Snow blower used 4 times in one storm. Snow was 4 to 6 inches on level patio for two car garage. BROKEN SNOW BLADE. Snow most done for this year. Can not get replacement parts.

I have had this Snow Joe model for 5 years. It can handle up to a foot of snow, as long as the snow is powdery. If the snow is wet & icy - Forget it! Wet & icy snow will shut this thing down in a matter of minutes! You will continually scrape out the built-up ice jam at the front & in the chute of this blower, as opposed to clearing snow from your driveway or walk. One saving grace: it is very light & easily handled, but it's NOT the ultimate snowblower those 5 Star reviewers make it out to be! Look somewhere else if your snowfalls are anything more than light, powdery coverings! Buy this & you'll rue the day you did!

First electric snowblower. Very happy with ease of use. Just have to get used to having the cord at all times. Plenty of power for my use so far. 5-8 inches no problem. No more carb problems.yeah
We got hit with a HUGE snow storm, plus we live in the country and the wind was really blowing the snow. A few of our driveway drifts were over 2-feet deep so I shoveled off half of the depth so Joe wouldn’t burn out but cleared the rest like a champ. Our driveway is 200-feet long plus a parking area for 4 to 6 cars. This is the third snow I’ve used ‘Joe’ for and feel comfortable with the pattern that works for our property and not running over the cord!
I live in an apartment complex with a garage unit and the managers won't clear the parking lot unless there's more than 6 inches of snow (don't get me started). I didn't want gas powered because I don't want the gas can sitting in my garage, so I bought the Sunjoe SJ627E electric snow blower after doing a lot of online research. I have to admit, this little machine can blow some snow. You will have to put in some work to move it through the snow because it's not a self-propelled machine. If you have a large job with a lot of heavy, wet snow you will definitely run out of gas before the snow blower does. Also, if you're not careful to make sure the blower remains level with the pavement, the bottom portion of the unit will get caught on seams in the sidewalk or driveway, so just be aware of that. Since it needs a power cord, it's not really meant for massively large jobs, but this thing is a beast on mid range to smaller jobs.
The only con I feel I should mention is the metric bolts that come with the unit to fasten the handles aren't the most durable. I broke one bolt on the lower part of the handle because they can't take a lot of extra man-made force. Easy fix was that I went to the hardware store and purchased four replacements that were steel, but these bolts aren't durable and I feel it's something Sunjoe's quality control should have caught and replaced a while ago. Also, not sure why the bolts are metric, that just seems odd to me, but whatever. Anyway, that's the reason for the 4 stars, otherwise, had the bolts been better quality it's a 5 star unit.
My driveway is not big so I thought I could get away without having a gas snow blower. I used this snow blower about 8-10 times over the course of two years and several months out of warranty it breaks. Now I can't get a replacement pulley from Snow Joe nor could I even get the broken pulley off the machine. I do have to say that the snow blower did decent job on powdery snow up to about 6 inches. If the snow was wet or frozen (like the end of my driveway) it couldn't handle it. Do yourself a favor and get a real snow blower (too bad I didn't listen to my neighbors before I made this purchase).
